You can never have enough of anything.

For a long time, I lived repetitively, spending wisely, sticking to the same routine and pattern, and saving for rainy days. Unfortunately, the rainy day has arrived, but I did not prepare adequately. So, what did I do wrong?

Apparently, I did nothing wrong; I simply did not do enough because I lacked sufficient information about how a rainy day should look. I predicted it in my own way, but it did not turn out as I expected. After one year, my life has changed in ways I did not anticipate. I thought I had saved enough, only to realize that we can only prepare for what we know.

There are times in life when we believe that money will answer all of our questions, solve all of our problems, and provide assurance; however, this is not the case. Money is a means to an end, not the end itself. As we get older, we develop more needs and desires.

As we get older, we have more problems, We sometimes believe that getting older, celebrating birthdays, and starting new jobs is enough to progress; however, as we age, we become slower, edgier, blunter, and have more problems. If there is such a thing as infinite money, it cannot be used to buy a utopia.

This is because everything changes as we age; we desire more things, take on more responsibility, and face unexpected health challenges.

Money is never enough, unless you want to go to an isolated island, stay there without contact with the outside world, avoid social media and other responsibilities, and then what you have may be sufficient. However, it is not always about the money. Most people want something they cannot have.

For example, a disabled person desires better health, a charming spouse, and a fulfilling life; however, their reality is too real to change. It is not wrong to want what we do not have; the mind is the greatest thing ever created; it allows us to think about unimaginable things, particularly those we do not have.

Money, on the other hand, is not the only thing we want because it cannot provide an answer to every question. If it does, wealthy people will be happy, fulfilled, and possibly immortal.

However, money is the only thing we can strive for because it is within our means to obtain; on the other hand, an abstract concept such as happiness may be dependent on factors outside of our control rather than what we have right now.

Money Seems Immutable, but it might not be

.....but the end of the day, why does everyone want affordability?

It protects you against financial uncertainty, but it cannot protect you from everything. We are better off being able to stay and solve the majority of our problems. We simply live with the problems that we are unable to solve. Life can be a cross, a rose and thorn.

There is no overall sweetness, and while we can argue that some people have it better than others, life would become a utopia, an unreal place if we had everything.

Most of what we desire is close to human perfection. For example, I want to eliminate my health problems because no amount of medication will change the genetic malfunction. If medication could help, I would probably take out a loan and spend the rest of my life repaying it.

However, making money is very close to having everything we desire. People can easily throw money at their problems, and it will probably help to some extent, but a broke person with multiple problems may have no reason to live.

Deeper Meaning To Deeper Difficulties

We used to believe that some of our problems had deeper causes.

Sometimes we think we are too perfect to be in pain, or we give it too much meaning, but deep down, it is mostly what we have to deal with, even if it is unfair.

A bitter realization

I am currently probably broke for the first time in a long time, which worries me greatly. I have been through bankruptcy before; it is one of the worst things that can happen, and it is even worse if you have a medical condition.

The most difficult problem in life is not having enough money for health care; it is a necessity with no alternative, and the feeling of being in that dark place prompted me to save back in the day, but despite my caution, I am back in debt.

We can never be too prepared; life problems evolve into things we can not explain; sometimes it is not us, but the vastness of reality and our inability to comprehend seemingly simple concepts. There is never a simple situation.

When you are comfortable, try not to feel too safe. When you are in remission, do not think you are completely good to go; sometimes when we relax to enjoy and catch our breath, things we never expect will happen; there is no resting place, and you are never too safe.

The way l see it, l think lt might not still be enough lf we go to the isolated island, those living things that dwell on the island before the person might want to get some money as rent from him /her, so the person still needs money.

I think if one goes to an isolated island, they might be forced to content with what they have, plus if you're isolated, some of your financial commitments might not longer be there anymore.

Well said @josediccus.

We do not know the future but we know the One who does...and that makes all the difference.

Thinking of you and your situation.

Kind Regards, Bleujay

Exactly there will always be uncertainty regarding the future; what we know and what we don't, there's really nothing we can do.
The only certainty lies with our Lord Jesus Christ alone.
Thanks for the kind words

Money is indeed a means to an end and not the end itself and the ability of money to solve problems for those who possess it is seriously limited. This is because of the unlimited nature of human wants. We just have to be satisfied with how much we have because no one can ever satisfy all his wants. I hope you are able to come out of the financial despondency you're currently in. Just keep doing your best it's going to work out fine.

on the other hand, an abstract concept such as happiness may be dependent on factors outside of our control rather than what we have right now.

On point. I think that is because concepts like Happiness are to a large extent all about perspective and individual definitions. For people to whom happiness means having x amount of money, they'll likely be very fulfilled on hitting that amount. Although like you rightly indicated, they won't be satisfied for long because the x amount they initially wanted would've changed, and it will continue to for as long as they live because we humans are just insatiable.

while we can argue that some people have it better than others, life would become a utopia, an unreal place if we had everything.

This is literally what paradise is. So if life became like this, the world probably must've ended and we all might just be in heaven.

Your last paragraph is beautiful

Full of wisdom. Money is good, and we all need it to get everything we ever wanted, from health, housing, and a good life to a host of others. Without it, life will be miserable as no one wants to live a life of penury. Although there are things money can't buy directly yet, it is important in our lives as without it, humans seem worthless, particularly in our present age.

I agree with the fact that we don't have power over something in life. There are some occurrences we never plan to surface, which is why supremacy power comes in.

There are times when we already plan ourselves and prepare for the future, but something might just happen that will put us off track.

Yes, thanks for the summations. I was mostly talking from my experience, although for many others it might be different experiences, but I feel that at the end of the day, we're probably still talking about the samness of uncertainty and how it can be unpredictable

Very well said... Things can happen at any time and the comfortable becomes disaster overnight. I know you're going through a rough patch which always really sucks. Hang in there!

It's tough and it can happen to anyone. You can prepare what you can but anything can happen. I have had times where I didn't have enough funds and it was painful. I am sure it will pass eventually, so don't give up.

I am very lucky to be alive and also lucky to have little money to face my financial problems. I have stopped worrying about anything, only my health concerns me. It might seem I’m getting comfortable, but what if I’m dead?

Well you asked the right questions. Sometimes I just feel it's more than luck, I think it's rh intentional Grace of God.

Really man's wants are insatiable but at the same time, most of our needs are not even met because of very slim resources, for me at least.
If healthcare were free or greatly subsidized, our country would be a better place.

Unfortunately, most third world countries don't have free healthcare, the leaders these countries makes it impossible

It's a pity that money is never enough to get what needs to get done, I for one have never had the luxury of having more than enough but there are some who are so privileged.
I pray that divine help locates you for provision, especially for your health's sake.
