RE: Publicity or Privacy: which do you want?
You are viewing a single comment's thread:
You could be entirely pseudonymous here on Hive..
This is true, you can, and one of the proof is that I haven't seen your face, or know your name, but I still have a vivid identity of who you are based on your on-chain personality.
Quick one: what do you think of the concept of the KE ratio?
1
0
0.000 POB
I have often checked an author's total earnings and compared it to their HP.
I have basically checked the KE ratio before it was even given a name.
It should not be the only metric to judge an author or content by, though.
Sometimes it would be better to only judge the content of the piece, regardless of the author.
Should KE be part of the interface, like on peakd? I think it's not elegant to put it next to an author's name...
I wouldn't have done it that way. It's kind of handy to have quick access to it, though.
Yeah, it would way too invasive and crazy to put it next to the authors name even if it's just on peakD and not other frontend, but then I think a lot of Hive users prefer PeakD.
Yeah, I know you've checked out that ratio, or you have a way of doing it, even before the KE thing came out. In all honesty I don't think it's wrong to take profit, but it's also idea to invest back some of that profit when the market eventually goes down..
Thanks for your honest opinion.
The information was always there, btw.
The reputation is a direct reflection of all down- and upvotes you've ever got.
My rule of thumb was: 70 rep should have 10k HP, 75 rep 20k HP
We need people to power up, so they can start distributing rewards to keep the ball rolling and become independent of whales. But too many people act too selfish and we are still divided by rich and poor and there is no middle class.
we would both count as middle-weight accounts... and there are only a handful like us.
Yeah, the reputation was always there. Infact it's always available when you click a profile, you can immediately tell. However I think this metric just makes it simpler and it seems like it's now all in plain sight
I do agree that people need to power up more, at least they get to support those who has supported them over the years and also support upcoming creators, while the ones they've supported can also grow and in turn, support others. This way, as you've said, there's less dependence on whales.
However, it's only a few who will see it this way, without a middle class the disparity will be huge.
