Have You Checked Your Curation Rewards Today?
Recently, it felt like I was not receiving curation rewards; perhaps I had made the mistake of claiming them too frequently, I was certain, so I had to confirm.
The last time I checked my curation stats of Hivestats.io I believe I was at 8% APR and receiving approximately 8 Hive for my curation rewards per day; I am not sure how long this was, but I can not seem to remember. However, I decided to check today, and I was shocked. Wait for it, and I will let you know soon.
I take Curation seriously, in the sense that I rarely let my VP hit 100%; aside from that, I do not do anything really special. I simply select a list of authors, mentally assign a voting percentage, and ensure that it is consistent.
For example, if I assign 30% to the author, it will be difficult for me to increase it unless they create something different than what they normally do. I sometimes go as high as 35%, but I know I usually curate them in the 30-35% range.
I curate over 30 authors per day, and I am not sure how I keep track of what percentage I give each author, but I believe it is because I read over 80% of the content I curate, which is probably how I get a mental picture of what percentage I do per post.
In the past, you earn more curation rewards for slapping your vote on posts with the potential capacity to end up on the trending pages, but it's different now, as this makes some types of creators favorites at all times and this was really bad.
Nowadays, you are free to do whatever you want, and you will receive 100% of your reward regardless of what the recipient of the vote does at the end of the day.
Checking Hivestats for my curation report was a joy; I have been doing a lot of random curation, and it turns out I have been doing well.
So I get about 19.4 Hive per day for curation rewards and around 136 per week. I like to check it every day because it provides an accurate picture of the Curation report.
Sometimes I hit 9% APR per day, sometimes it drops to about 8.5, and it rarely falls below 8, so 19.4 Hive per day can be less than 19, or just about 19 Hive per day, depending on how much I curate in a day.
Sometimes I just leave my VP to recharge, and on those days, I rely solely on autovote curating.
It is why I have been so focused on pushing my power-ups: 19 Hive, for example, at $3 per Hive, equals 57$ in curation rewards per day. Although these are just speculations, we cannot deny that these figures are attainable with the bull run year just over 2 weeks away.
However, these are very small numbers that cannot be compared to those who are truly successful with curation. My friend Dwayne16, for example, is not a frequent curator, but he carries a lot of weight when he does.
Unlike me, who is more of a 30% to 45% guy, my 80 to 100% voting percentage is rare. However, because I run down my VP a lot by curating more accounts, it is difficult for me to give the full value of my VOTING POWER because I rarely leave my VP to reach 95%, let alone 100%.
In Conclusion
I believe that everyone should document their curation expedition, including the experience and numbers.
Hivestats offers some incredible options for doing this. The reason is that I believe it can encourage a user to prioritize staking or powering up.
These figures may appear ordinary on the surface, but they actually pile up over time, proving once again that Hive mostly favors long-term gamers. Have you checked Hivestats today?.

I have not (yet) calculated this. Maybe I should?
Otherwise, my rewards are much smaller. As I quickly noticed, my curation rewards are around 10%, and 90% are author rewards.
Well, maybe you probably need to twist your curation habits a little bit. Maybe they'll do more for you. Otherwise, I think Curation is a big deal.
Maybe it's true. But I should probably comment more, which means more time, which I don't have that much of. But I think I comment quite a lot and reply to all comments regularly.
Well, it doesn't really mean you need to comment more. Curation takes less time, than commenting and reading posts
Yes, you're right, but for me, it's curating, so if I give my vote, I also write a comment.
My curation reward doesn't even make much difference now. I upvote as a means of registering support
Everyone had zero at some point.
My account is on power down and my attempt is that as soon as I get some money in the bill run I will end the power down or get a good job then my creation reward will start when I have more. HP will be.
Well, I'm mostly asking for curation reward and not power down, so.
I don't wait until 95 or 100% voting power either. I just try to make sure it's below 80 every single night. I check my APR once a week and it's usually around 8-9% on average. The curation rewards do add up over time though.
Your APR is good, that's where I hang around and my curation reward is decent. Yes, it adds up overtime and the interesting thing is that when it adds up, it even yields more potential Curation reward.
Hivestats is a great tool, I agree. Great job on your curation earnings, it's a great way to earn Hive! If Hive does go all the way to three dollars that would be a nice daily income just off on curations!
I don't check my curation rewards often, but your post reminded me to do so. I also generally use a 30% weight on my upvotes on posts too, but occasionally I vary it quite seriously from this average. You have more HP than I do, but seems like I'm doing relatively well on the curation side too, at 8.14% APR, with daily rewards close to 9 HP.
That's a decent number. I think a lot of us hardly check curation reports often, and it probably makes us downplay how much it impacts the growth of one's actually HP.
You're doing relatively well and it's just about x2 of yours
Wow!! That's a lot of Hive to earn daily ( checking daily will surely boost one to work harder ) Hive is so fun when you know your way around ☺️
