Summer and Beach [EN/ES]

English Version

Cuba has always been much more than a tropical island. For those of us who live here and for those who visit us from afar, the sea is not just a beautiful landscape, it is part of our identity. Tourism both national and foreign, finds in our coasts the ideal place to spend a nice holiday, beautiful sandy beaches, warm and calm waters and a warm climate with sunny days almost all year round.

For Cubans the summer season is inconceivable without at least one trip to the beach. Even if the sun is hot, spending a day with friends, family and waves is worth it.

That is why I want to share with you the experience of my visit to this beach in the town of Santa Fe, which belongs to the municipality of Playa. I really like the landscape and the feeling of peace that I always feel when I am by the sea. There is something magical in that moment when you sit and contemplate that wide horizon where water and sky seem to join together.

And although it may seem curious, what I enjoy most about the beach is not going into the water. If I do, it's only for a moment, just to cool off and then I get out. I find it much more relaxing to stay outside in the shade contemplating the surroundings. I love to watch the children play, to see how the waves break gently on the shore, to walk barefoot on the wet sand and to see how the sun goes down little by little until dusk arrives. That hour when its light rests on the sea and seems to give off little sparks.

Also of silence. There is a kind of silence that is specific to the sea. Voices and ambient noise are transformed and diluted in the breeze. Everything seems to become murmurs in the distance. It is a silence with a life of its own where everything is slower and full of calm, the swaying of the waves, the noise of the birds, or the murmur of the wind in the palm trees.

That is why I prefer the afternoon to visit the beach, for me it is the time of the day when it is most calm and serene.

So much for my visit. I hope that like me, you have enjoyed the charm of the landscape and that my publication has managed to transmit a little of the magic and harmony that you feel when you are by the sea.

Cheers, and until the next time!

I have heard that Cuban beaches are unique. I love the blue sky and the sand contracting with the sea on the horizon.

When I go to a beach, I don't swim much either 😂. I like to go at sunrise or sunset. Without a doubt, the cool hours are the best to enjoy to the fullest.

Yes, the beaches in Cuba are very beautiful, and the surrounding landscape is just as stunning.
So we have the same tastes, we prefer to enjoy the beach from the shore. Sunsets over the sea are truly lovely.
