A morning by the sea [EN/ES]
English Version
I am sure that, of all the ways to start the day in harmony, one of the best is to be by the sea. At this hour the sun is still weak and reflects on the water creating bright flashes, like little sparks of light coming off the waves.
This area is the entrance to Havana Bay, and my intention on arriving here was to enjoy the scenery. Directly opposite at the opposite end of the sea is the fortress of the Morro Castle, with its lighthouse which for a long time guided ships on their safe entry into Havana's harbour.
On both sides the Malecón stretches out. On one side, the city with its tallest buildings visible in the distance, and on the other the harbour avenue bordered by the gentle sea in the soft morning light.
But my little morning stroll also had an unexpected reward, I met a group of fishermen who, with great skill and even more patience, were waiting for the sea to give them a good catch. I had never seen the art of fishing so closely, so I spent some time watching the men cast their hooks into the water.
I didn't see any of them catch a fish at the time, but from the number of men in this small space I gather it's not a bad place to fish. I only saw a few fish hanging from the bicycle of one of them. At that moment I felt like being there among those fishermen with my fishing rod and my eyes on the blue sea.
Like me, several people passed by simply to enjoy the view, attracted by the tranquillity of the place and the scenery which is always wonderful, or just looking for a moment of calm and serenity.
At that time of the morning, although the sun is already up, the city is still quiet, it is early and just beginning to wake up, so there are few people passing by, few cars on the streets, and everything feels as if it is on pause. A moment of calm before the hustle and bustle of everyday life takes its place.
I hope you enjoyed this simple walk by the sea, best wishes to the whole Wednesday Walk community, and see you next time!

Beautiful and relaxing view of the bay/harbor; nice weather great for taking a walk around this scenic area. Fishing takes time and patience but it can also be rewarding after some time. The view is soothing to the eyes as I also like the color blue, but being near the sea always gives us that sense of awe.
Yes, the view in the place is beautiful, I also love the sea and being close to it was very gratifying.
