I wish musical artists would use blockchain more and listeners and fans use blockchain more... I wonder what's holding everyone back?

i think it's a combination of reasons, onboarding and ease of use being up top.

people dont want a phd in computer science to use this stuff, they just wanna plug in.

Maybe an app called "plug in" where artists can easily create an account and upload their music... trouble is cost (subscription based) and "starving artists" don't afford services they can get for free. Although there are many curators who would be happy to support them with their upvotes and tips, but probably not enough to make it worthwhile.

C'mon HIVE, go to $5.00 and make it worth their while! :-)

I think there's still a learning curve with blockchain tech. The goal of the @recording-box project is to to bring musicians to HIVE through live music sessions produced in the studio and teach them step-by-step:

  • How to create an account
  • How to make an introductory post on HIVE
  • How to use their keys
  • How to spend their $HBD

This is the kind of recording we make as a first post:

It's a great show and I like how task is doing something that makes it easier to rank. It would be nice to see those musicians create their own page.

Detailed Article:

In this engaging episode of the Crypto Maniacs Podcast, hosts Jon G. Olson and Taskmaster had a special guest, Alex Roar. Alex shared his insights and journey within the crypto and music industries, enriching listeners with his experiences from starting a recording studio business to embracing blockchain technology for musical endeavors.

The conversation kicked off with the hosts reminiscing about previous guests and discussing the significance of engaging with the audience through diverse content. Taskmaster humorously inquired if he had received a badge, hinting at the practice of rewarding guests and contributors with badges as a token of appreciation.

Transitioning to more serious topics, Alex delved into his background, explaining how he ventured into the world of cryptocurrency through his recording studio business. He stumbled upon Music Coin, a project aimed at using cryptocurrency for music, which piqued his interest and led him to explore more about Bitcoin and its ecosystem. This journey brought him to Hive, where he was intrigued by the community's passion and the potential for creative content monetization.

Elaborating on the crypto scenario in Guatemala and neighboring El Salvador, Alex highlighted the contrast between El Salvador's top-down approach in making Bitcoin legal tender and Guatemala's more organic, curiosity-driven acceptance of cryptocurrency. The discussion underscored the importance of educating people about cryptocurrency, facilitating its adoption, and showcasing tangible use cases such as purchasing everyday items with Hive Backed Dollars (HBD).

Furthermore, the podcast shed light on the grassroots efforts within the Hive community to promote music and creativity. Alex and the hosts discussed the challenges and opportunities for musicians in leveraging blockchain to gain monetary value from their talents. They emphasized the significance of platforms like Hive, which not only provide financial incentives but also foster a sense of community among artists and content creators.

As the episode progressed, the conversation turned towards the technical and scaling challenges faced by Hive, particularly in light of recent node issues. The hosts and guest agreed that for Hive to succeed and attract wider adoption, addressing these challenges should be a priority, ensuring a seamless user experience for both existing and potential users.

In concluding, the episode highlighted the exciting possibilities that blockchain technology offers to the music industry and creative sectors at large. Alex's experiences and insights served as a testament to the transformative power of integrating cryptocurrency and blockchain into the world of arts, opening new avenues for artists to thrive and connect with audiences worldwide.

The episode wrapped up with a sense of optimism and encouragement for listeners to explore how blockchain can revolutionize various industries, urging the community to continue building and innovating for a decentralised future.
