Imho because if he officially makes a really grave error then all of us following him will do the same because he said so. And of course there will be dissension and such from those who will refuse. Lol. It's gonna be chaos.

Yes we should follow God but you forget who wrote the Bible. Men. Because God communicates His will to each and every one of those who are open to Him and close to Him. And who is the one on top who's closest and besties with the Lord? The Pope.

Debatable :)

But the Holy Spirit wrote the bible. He just used men to do it...

Yep that's exactly what I said. God uses His creation to get His point across. You can't have a Bible or any teaching out of thin air directly from God. That's not how He works.

Oh and let's not forget, God wouldn't have become man if not for another human being, Mama Mary. So yeah, we follow God but we also do His will so the world will benefit from it.

Oh for sure. We are His instruments for sure. Something I read recently was 'Scripture is the medium of communication between God and man'. Shows how important it is to follow His word :)

Amen! That's true. If we don't read the Bible we won't know about God. And our priests know more about Him from all the education they got. Lol. Imagine 10 yrs more or less of your life learning everything about Him and His teachings including his apostles and such. Whoa. Priests are really smart imho because they know a lot about His will. What more when a priest becomes Pope? Whew. Such a big responsibility. Thus we need to pray for him too. 🙏

Yep, that's right. If we don't pray everyday for each other, especially our leaders, then the world would not have enough grace to do better.
