The Chinese seems to be spending less to train similar AI Models 🤔 I wonder why that is

A Chinese company, 01.ai, trained a top performing AI model called Yi-Lightning with just $3 million and 2,000 GPUs.

But OpenAI spent $80 to $100 million on GPT-4.

We know that the Chinese AI company have been limited by US GPU bans but 01.ai used smart engineering to cut costs and optimize efficiency.

Their model now ranks sixth globally, just imagine that.

This is pure innovation. China companies are super competitive
