The ripening stage in rice cultivation is a stage that determines the quality and quantity of our harvest, proper care at this stage ensures that the grains develop fully reaching their maximum size, weight and nutritional value. I am going to explain some very important details on how to get the best quality rice grain at this stage of cultivation.

Does rice grain ripening really matter?

Yes, it does in so many aspects and the more we understand how important it is to have good mature ripe rice grain at the time of harvesting we won't pay attention to it.

Grain quality:

Ripening allows the starch that is within the grains to mature properly enhancing its Nutritional and taste which also affects the rice market value that alone is a big reason why we have to ensure that the grains mature perfectly.

The second reason that will be so evident when we start harvesting the grain is

Yield potential:

Proper ripening ensures are higher percentage of fully developed grains which also reduces the amount of wastage.

Grains that have not fully matured during the time of harvesting are not of any benefit to the farmer because you hardly find grains in them so we would obviously have to find a way of separating the once without fully developed grains from the grains that have fully developed since that's what we need and this explains why there is a high chance of wastage if the grains if it has not fully matured.

There are different ways of separating the developed grains from the underdeveloped grains and that will be done during the harvesting period.
