THE REVENANT (2015) || MOVIE REVIEW
The Revenant starts off with a bang. Right from the beginning, when Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) gets attacked by a bear, you’re hooked. The intensity of that scene and the raw emotion that DiCaprio brings to it really pulls you in. You’re left wondering how he’s going to survive out there in the brutal wilderness, and for a moment, it feels like you’re about to experience something truly unforgettable.
But as the story moves on, things slow down, and I started to lose some of that initial excitement. While the breathtaking landscapes are beautiful to watch, the plot feels like it’s dragging. Glass’s journey becomes a series of similar struggles, and it starts to feel repetitive. I kept hoping for something to shake things up, but it just kept going at a very steady pace, which, after a while, became a bit exhausting.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance is incredible there’s no doubt about that. He does an amazing job showing just how far someone will go to survive and get revenge. But the lack of much dialogue and the slow pace made it hard to really connect with him on a deeper level. I couldn’t help but wish for more insight into what he was feeling, beyond the obvious physical pain. The emotional side of his journey just didn’t come through as strongly as I expected.
The other characters, like Tom Hardy’s John Fitzgerald, don’t bring much to the table either. They’re solid performances, but nothing that adds a lot of depth to the story. Fitzgerald’s character is meant to be this morally grey figure, but he felt a bit flat. It’s a beautiful movie and a solid watch, but it didn’t have that lasting impact I was hoping for. It’s the kind of film you’ll appreciate once, but it might not stick with you. I’d give it a 7/10 good, but not one I’d watch again.

This is a big All star Movie, I'm just seeing it,
Thanks for the review, I would give it a try, seems like a Good watch
It's rare witnessing actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom hardy in the same movie, not delivering their best. One would think the movie would be a 10/10. Well, I still need to check it out despite the lack of emotional depth which you brilliantly outlined here. Can't afford to miss out on what these characters bring to the table.
Greetings!
