Snowfall & Scenic Roads | Driving Through Lewis Pass, NZ

This week was quite a very busy one for me, especially Monday and Tuesday when I drove for 13 hours in 24 hours, which was roughly 962km from Christchurch to Takaka and back while also getting the job done on site. Tough, hey!
Aside from the tough, busy work schedule, the drive always makes up for it with the beautiful scenery, so drive through Lewis Pass road presented me with stunning scenic snow ❄️ views.
New Zealand roads are quite narrow, so I had to make sure I stopped at a safe spot to not be in the way of traffic behind me as I irresistibly stopped for photos and videos. The temperature outside was -4 degrees Celsius.
There's quite a unique beauty to snowfall and being out there in snow, which was what I enjoyed as I briefly took my time to immerse myself in the beauty around me.

I was a little shy of halfway to Takaka and in a bit of rush to reach my destination before dark even though it was dark when I reached. Being able to do the quick stops at scenic spots was refreshing and rewarding for photos 📸.
How is the weather there now, are there still snow?

I can imagine… with such a long drive you just want to get there. Good you did take a stop.
It looks like early spring. No snow left. This weekend warmer weather 22 degrees Celsius but Monday it goes down to 16 during day and 7 at night and it will be raining all week.
Good I got the seeds in the ground. Just some grass mowing left around the cabin.
I started today on the kitchen floor renovations… still lots to do.

Wow I see snow on the streets and stuck to some of those trees on the side of the road it's really pretty, and you took some really cool looking shots.
It truly is pretty with a peaceful feeling out there. Even though it was cold, I could hangout there a bit to take photos if I wasn't rushing for work.

Snow for us Africans always gets us excited, had snowfall through many provinces here last week. Lovely you managed to find a safe spot to stop, admire it to the full.

Yup my brother and sister-in-law went up for a long weekend, had to drive back in appalling wind, did get to see the snow on top of the mountains. Cooler weather is the way I like it, no problem at all.
