Reflections | Marsden Lake Resort Central Otago 🇳🇿
Does any of my friends remember my posts about Mount Difficulty? If you do, this was the accommodation we stayed at when we worked at Mount Difficulty, Cromwell, Central Otago 🇳🇿.
Actually, I didn't sleep here, Cromwell tends to be another tourist hot spots so me and my colleagues and I were booked to stay in different accommodations and also changed accommodations twice.
So when my colleagues moved to this motel, I had to come in with them for photos of these houses reflecting on water. It is so beautiful that every photographer would love to photograph this view, and it is one of my shots that I am very happy with.

funny how the shuffle between stays led you to that motel with the houses on the water.
Those refelctions feel calm and and kind of magnetic, no wonder it became one of your happy shots.
Mount Difficulty sure makes choosing a bed difficult, but a view like that makes the detour totally worth it.

Yes the changing of accommodation turned out to give me the opportunity to photograph these houses 🏘 so I was lucky in that regard
Absolutely, at the end of a hard work day, coming to rest in a motel with a view like this can be really worth it with a beer 🍺 😀

yeah, that shuffle turned into pure luck for your lens, and and the calm water paid you back. Nothing beats clocking off then kicking back with a view like that and a cold bear. Did you catch any evening glow on the reflections or was it all soft blue hour?
Oh no, my stay there was just for the photos and after that I went off to my accommodation which is about ±6km away.
I can imagine the evening reflections on the water with those houses, it will be spectacular.
yeah, a quick photo stop that pays off is the best kind of detour and and that reflection shows it. Evening would be spectaular on calm water with those houses. Did you ever catch a sunset there or was it just a fast hop before heading the 6 km back?
I caught mostly sunrise on Mount Difficulty, there were a few days when it was almost sunset and we were always one our driving down because its not safe to be up there in the dark.

As you said beautiful photos with these reflections... It must be cool to stay in these houses and wake up in the morning with this view.

Unfortunately my colleagues didn't get to enjoy morning views as we all meet early before sunrise at the bottom of Mt Difficulty to start driving up.

Wow, staying here would be incredible lol. Just take a boat and stroll through the river every morning taking in the scenery, I like how the house are designed, with spacious balcony outside :)
I like the design also, It is attractive and how the foundations hang up is amazing architecture.
Lol yeah I take a small boat and just float around enjoying the views.
