New Zealand's Most Photographed Tree 🇳🇿 | May 2025

It doesn't matter how many times I am in Wanaka, I have to stop at ThatWanakaTree to photograph the tree, which every tourist flocks to go and take photos of.

This will be the third time I will be sharing photos of this most photographed tree in New Zealand 🇳🇿. A link to the last post is below to give a different beautiful view compared to this day that is equally beautiful in a different way.

I must say, though, that I wouldn't have normally gone to photograph this tree on this day as the weather was terrible. It was raining, and I have definitely no promise of sunshine later in the day.

The reason I was there was because I had to show my colleagues, I tend to look for tourist spots and scenic lookouts, unlike some of my colleagues. So I am glad I took, showed my colleagues as I got away with photos that are for keep.

The photos appear like black and white but no, that was the actual scene of the moment and I just love it 👌

I remember the other version of this tree during a more favourable or rather sunny weather. This version also has its own charm, in a quiet and profound way. The tree is standing there, holding its ground, while the environment around it keeps changing.

Amazingly this version of weather also possess its unique charm and just a week ago I was there again and this time the background mountains were snow-capped giving it another beautiful look. I will share photos someday ☺️

Sure is a classic spot an worth a visit if you're in the area. Even with other people around you still get great views.
