New Zealand's Most Photographed Tree 🌳 πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ

https://youtube.com/shorts/kTA4ZDkIewQ?si=92GB9KDO8Rr1O4BF

I was away to Wanaka last week for work, Wanaka is like a smaller Queenstown, I like it there quite a gorgeous town and about 5:30 hours drive from Christchurch.

I have been there for work on several occasions towards the end of last year. As usual, I always find tourist hotspots where the job takes me to so it wasn't difficult to find #ThatWanakaTree, which I photographed and shared with you on Hive. That was in summer, so I was fortunate to be sent there in autumn πŸ‚ currently as winter approaches.

Getting the opportunity to experience an autumn view of the tree is awesome. Despite my tight schedule, I made a quick stop at Roys Bay for photos, even in my PPE and work boots.

It was busy, which is not a surprise as tourists walk towards the loan tree in the lake for photos. I had to move shooting πŸ“· spots several times as tourists walk into my focus πŸ˜ƒ

I am still hunting for an epic shot with some orange light in the sky, that will be a delightful shot for, but for now, these are the shots I got away with.

The silhouette of the tree branches curves gently against the more prominent background, ultimately creating a harmonious, peaceful and calming scene.

The scene of the tree against the background is an absolute beauty that's why I would like to photograph it with a more colorful sky. Hopefully one day I will.

Haha even in your work boots. Awesome… true dedication to see the beauty around you.
That tree is something else. So beautiful in each season. I see why people flock to it to capture.
Yes, that would be an epic shot with the sunrise or sunset. One day Joe, one day you will see it.

Great captures and the vignette edit is cool 😎
Have a lovely evening, enjoy your weekend!

I see why it is the most photographed tree. It's such an unique location and the environment it is in is also very photogenic.
It is also funny to photograph the photographers as you did. I do that sometimes as well when I visit popular landmarks.
Cool shots!
This one would also be cool with sunset/sunrise by the way.

Also being able to withstand all seasons and weather in water amazes people.

Am not so good at pointing camera at people but in this case there were people all over so it was easy to get them in my shots.

Thank you 😊

I appreciate seeing a photo of photographers trying to get a shot of this peculiar tree.
I love the surrounding views and the clarity of the atmosphere.
A sunrise/sunset photo of it will definitely look epic, hope you'll get it one day and share it here with us :)

From humble beginnings over 70 years ago as a wooden fence post charged with keeping stock from wandering, the Wānaka Willow has become the beautiful tree we see today. Source

Social celebrity status since 2014, this happened to my Dad pruning trees using off-cuts to peg for the sweetpeas or tomatoes to grow up, every so often start of a new plant in the ground. Nice to find the origin to share.

Always interesting to know the beginnings of the attraction we now admire and photograph today.

Seeds/off-cuts that incidentally grow and survived beautiful tells us another beautiful and will to survive side of nature.
Thanks for sharing the source πŸ˜€
