Kawatiri Picnic Area | A Short Stop En Route to Christchurch 🇳🇿

So it is beginning to feel like I am recovering from my travel to Benin 🇧🇯 and back to New Zealand 🇳🇿. Since I got back to NZ, I have been going to bed as early as 6,7, 8pm and then stay awake from 1 or 2am.

It has been a complete disruption to my system, last night I went to bed before 8pm and woke around 3am. I feel I am gradually settling back to NZ time zone difference. The 12 hours difference between NZ and Benin is massive.

So while awake at 3am, I thought I'd share my stop at Kawatiri Picnic Area as I traveled from north of the South Island back to my base in Christchurch.

It wasn't the brightest of days but the weather wasn't too bad for photos so I photographed this beautiful historic spot.
