We had a list of activities to do in Hokitika, and seeing the beach out of the way, it was time to go and see Hokitika Gorge, which is absolutely stunning.

In this post, I share the shorter walk. We did the 2 walks, the longer one being my favorite.

I took photos of Hokitika Gorge, which is worth reading. It is amazing how some of earth's reactions beautifies our planet while some cause natural disasters and loss of lives.

I googled it:

"The name Hokitika translates from Māori as "to return directly" (from hoki, 'to return', and tika, 'direct')."
