๐ŸŒฟ Under the Scorching Sun My Joyful Day Growing and Harvesting Alugbati (Malabar Spinach) in My Little Home Garden

Hello everyone! @hivegarden how are you all doing today? i hope you are all having a great and refreshing day wherever you are. Im back again to share a little update from my small garden one of my favorite relaxing spots at home. Gardening has become part of my daily routin something that makes me feel happy, calm and productive at the same time.

Today I want to show you my alugbati, which in English is called Malabar spinach. It is one of the easiest vegetables to grow here in our tropical climate. Alugbati is a kind of leafy vine that loves the sun and warm weather so it thrives well even when the days get really hot. i planted mine a few months ago and now the vines have started crawling beautifully around the bamboo sticks i set up as support. The leaves are thick green and healthy a sign that my garden soil is fertile and my watering routine is working well.

I took some photos earlier, but wow, grabe ang init ๐Ÿ˜† the sun was shining so bright that i was already sweating after just a few minutes of taking pictures. Still, it was worth it because the leaves looked so fresh and glossy under the sunlight. There is something really satisfying about seeing plants you have taken care of growing so nicely.

For those who donโ€™t know alugbati or **Malabar spinach **is not the same as regular spinach even though they look somewhat similar. This one is a tropical vine with heart shaped leaves and sometimes reddish stems (depending on the variety). It is a great source of vitamins A and C, iron, and calcium. Many Filipinos love adding it to dishes like utan bisaya laswa or even ginisang monggo. Personally, i love mixing it with other vegetables and a little fish or shrimp. The texture is slightly slippery when cooked but that is what makes it special it gives soups a smooth hearty feel.

Another thing i love about growing alugbati is that it is low maintenance. You do not need fancy fertilizers or daily care. As long as it gets enough sunlight and water it will grow continuously. You can harvest it many times too just cut the vines and they will keep sprouting new leaves. Sometimes i even share some with my neighbors or relatives when it grows too much. It is such a nice feeling to give them something fresh and organic from my own backyard.

Gardening for me is not just about planting and harvesting. It is about patience consistency and the joy of seeing life grow from the soil. Every leaf reminds me that even simple things like watering plants or pulling weeds can bring peace and happiness. Especially during hot days like today,l standing there in the garden under the bright sky reminds me how blessed we are to have nature around us.

So yes even if the heat was almost unbearable while i was taking pictures of my alugbati, i still enjoyed every second of it. Maybe next time i will share how cook it a simple vegetable dish perfect for lunch or dinner.

Thats all for now friends ๐Ÿ˜ how about you do you also have alugbati or any other vegetables in your garden?
