Auntie's Little Garden A Vibrant Paradise of Bougainvilleas, Orchids, Hibiscus and Anthuriums – Where Color Blooms and Simple Joys Grow

Hello everyone! I wanted to share something that always makes me smile my Auntie's garden. I hope you are all doing well! When i first step through her gate i feel like im walking into a little piece of heaven. Every time i visit im amazed at how much color and life is packed into that one small space. It’s not a big garden but it’s filled with so much love that it feels like the biggest most beautiful place in the world..

Her garden is absolutely full of colorful flowers you can’t look anywhere without seeing a bright splash of something pretty. There are bougainvilleas everywhere with their bright pink purple and even orange colors. They climb all over the fence, twist around trellises and even hang down from the roof of her small tool shed. When the wind blows their papery petals dance in the air like little butterflies and it makes me want to spin around with them too. Auntie says she planted them because they are strong and grow easily but i think she just loves how they make the whole place look like a party.

Then there are the orchids oh how Auntie loves her orchids! She has them in pots all along the porch on shelves by the window and even hanging from hooks in the trees. They are so delicate and pretty, with petals that look like they are made of silk. Some are pure white, like little snowflakes that never melt. Others are deep purple, like the color of a sunset sky. There’s even one that’s pink with yellow spots it looks like it’s wearing a little dress! Auntie takes such good care of them watering them every morning and making sure they get just the right amount of sun. She says each orchid has its own personality and i think she’s right some are shy and only bloom once a year while others are bold and flower all the time.

She also has anthuriums which are one of my favorite flowers there. They have big shiny leaves that look like they have been polished and in the middle there is a bright red part that sticks up like a little flag. They look so tropical and fun and they remind me of going to the beach. Auntie says they love the humid weather here in Cagayan de Oro which is why they grow so well in her garden. Every time i touch their leaves they feel so smooth and cool it’s like a little gift from nature.

And hibiscus! You can’t miss them they are the big showy flowers that stand tall above all the others. They come in sunny yellow fiery orange, and deep red. Their petals are so big and soft and when they bloom in the morning they lok like they’re smiling at the sun. Auntie picks one every day to put in a glass of water on her kitchen table and it makes the whole house smell sweet. Bees and butterflies love the hibiscus too i spend hours watching them fly from flower to flower collecting nectar and making a soft buzzing sound that feels like music.

It’s not just about the flowers, though. The garden is alive with other things too. There are little birds that come to drink from the small birdbath Auntie put out. Sometimes i see lizards sitting on the rocks soaking up the sun. Even the ants are busy marching in straight lines from one flower to another like they are on an important mission. All of these little creatures make the garden feel like a busy happy home everyone has a place there and everyone gets along.

Auntie's garden is a happy place. It’s peaceful and makes you feel good, like all your worries just melt away when you are there. I always feel relaxed when i visit i like to sit on the porch swing drink cold water and just look at all the pretty things around me. Sometimes Auntie sits with me and she tells me stories about when she first started the garden how it was just a patch of dirt with a few small plants. Now look at it it’s a whole world of color and life.

The flowers are like Auntie i think full of life and color strong but gentle and always making people smile. She works hard in her garden every day but she says it’s not work it’s her joy. I’m so glad i can share her garden with you all. It’s a simple joy that makes life a little brighter and i hope it brings a smile to your face too, just like it does to mine.
