Moonlight stories inspired : Story in a song
Hello Everyone
Welcome to my blog.
Growing up, we always love moonlight stories.
These are educative stories with lots of moral lessons told by our grannies.
If our parents tell us the stories, it is a bonus.
Mainly, the grannies tell the best stories.
We enjoyed it so much.
We could gather around our grandma or grandpa and sit on a mat outside at night.
We love and enjoy those nights stories and the cool breeze.
You will sleep and dream about the stories told and could be reminded of the morals from the characters in the stories if one tends to misbehave.
The singer Mike Ejeagha is a musician who did justice to most of those stories.
Because his song style is a story in song form.
And they are very interesting and cool.
His songs are old songs of 20-30 years ago, if not more than 30 years 🤔
Gwo Gwo Ngwo challenge, which went viral in 2024, was from his song "Onye Ori Utaba"
The album Onye Ori Utaba first song is one I enjoy so much.
The story in the song is very spectacular with interesting cool lessons.
Let me break down what he sang in the song.
Join me and say story story😂
There is a man who is a known hunter in the community, and he is good at what he does.
He began to train people too, and people started having so much interest and respect for him.
But his popularity got to his head that he started feeling big and went less to hunt.
Then, he had a terrible encounter when he went to hunt, which caused his sights.
He became blind.
This yielded to his carefree lifestyle, he started stealing and used his predicament as an excuse for his actions.
He also extended his stealing to stealing from his sister inlaw, who sells something similar to weed that people smoke or inhale.
He always go over to his sister in-laws house whenever she leaves the house and take a good quantity of the powder she keeps outside for them to dry before she can package them and sell.
This is a widow who is also struggling to take care of her children through her business.
He always denials and embarrasses the woman whenever she asks and warns him to stop stealing from her.
One day, she made a plan to catch and expose him.
So, she mixed the powder with dried grinded pepper and kept it as usual.
The same day, the community called and cautioned him on his stealing habits, which he denied as usual.
He came back angrily, went and carried all the powder with annoyance from the just concluded meeting.
Cursing the community people, he took a large amount of the powder and inhaled it.
The thing went direct to his brain.
He started shouting, saying the sister inlaw had killed him.
People gathered together with the sister inlaw who pretended not to know what happened, joined in asking him what happened.
You find your moral lessons.

This story is very scary indeed and it proves that a man's enemy is from his own household.
The man messed up.
He just embraced laziness.
The story is trying to tell us that we shouldn't use our situation to blackmail and steal from people.
As long as we are alive, we should work hard to thrive in a cool way without harming others.
Wow. What a deep storyline
Yes,it is.
Ha ha, gies around, comes around
Gies = goes

It was when I came to Port Harcourt and listened to my father play Mike's songs that I realised that many of the moonlight stories my grandmother told us in the village were his. This guy was so good with his storytelling style of music that his stories became more popular than himself.
Yes, he is good.
