An Unforgettable Event : A cool surprise gift

For the time I can remember, 2024 was my best year seriously.
I always hear people, especially my friends, sharing their surprise experiences.
I could totally feel the joy and excitement because I heard it firsthand from them, and they told the story with lots of expressions to make you think and sound "Awwwn, God when" 😂😂😂

In as much as I heard all their stories, I could quickly search through recent events.
I tried to pinpoint my own surprise gift experience so I could share my own story, too.

Yes, I found one to tell, though it was old, but it's better than not saying anything in that circle.

I could also share my own old story, adding lots of excitement to it.

Yes, I was excited then when I received that surprise gift, but it was years ago, and I could barely remember all the events of that day.

If one could look well, you will see that wasn't a deep excitement from my story, but the story continues to emerge anytime the talk comes around.

Until when I got the best exciting surprise gift last year.

I worked in a construction site as a secretary and store keeper to becoming the assistant to the site manager.

Yes, my work extended.
I was doing lots of things every work day.

It was really tasking and overwhelming, but I managed to pull it off day in and day out to weeks and months.

The other workers could see my handwork and make comments about it, commending how great I am with multitasking.

Yes, I myself knew how hard I worked each day.
But it was exciting for me and the pay was well, so I wasn't really concerned.

Yes, my seniors (bosses) didn't really treat me well in some situations which I didn't mind, as long as I am doing my work well without any serious issues.

One day, the labourers in a section came to my table (my bosses were there too) and started with "we are here to make a report about me."

My heart was just pounding because I felt I had caused trouble without knowing.

And it could have been fair if they met me alone and told me about it, instead of bringing it to the table.

I honestly wished for the ground to open so I could go in.

Then, he continued.
"We want to report you for overly taking good care of us and diligently doing your work that we also benefit from."
At this point, I just gently shouted "Jesus," my mind coming down a bit, but I was very shy.

"We from the pilers section want to deeply appreciate you for all you do with this," he handed an envelope to me.

Ahhhh
I didn't know what to say, I was totally surprised 😳 like I never ever expected this in any way.

God helped me, and I was able to say a short appreciation.
Ahhhh, see my bosses looking at me nah with that bombastic side eye look 😂😂😂

No, this was the best that happened to me during that period.

My bosses even changed their attitude towards me from that day to more gratitude oo

I got home and checked the envelope to see a good amount of money.

To me, the way I received the surprise gift was all that matters, not even the gift itself.

Though, I could still appreciate someone gift me money if you don't know my preferences or can afford it.

When it comes to gifts, I love receiving what I currently do not have.
