A smooth shocking bargain encounter

I was in a bus at Aba going to bayelsa, as we were waiting for other passengers to come book, and they were also busy loading passengers loads inside, a vendor came by to sell.
He was selling all these necklaces, earrings,tooth gold ring, rings.
A male passenger called his attention,he picked up a necklace and asked him how much.
The seller said it was for five thousand naira, the guy quickly priced him five hundred naira.
Everybody on the bus including me was surprised but chose to mind our business by not expressing our surprise towards the bargain.

The seller said no nah price well let me sell for you, the guy without hesitation said okay let me add three hundred naira, I will buy it for eight hundred naira.
I almost shouted Jesus but the seller said okay give me one thousand which the guy refused saying what he has is the eight hundred naira.
My brethren after little back and forth,the guy still bought the necklace for eight hundred naira.
I was shocked, from five thousand naira to eight hundred naira.

It was when the seller left that everybody started asking the guy if he went to a special bargaining school.

He just smiled and said this is Aba nah
With "if you bend down well you will know the grades and how much they are".

Grades or no grades, I will be afraid to bargain such amount in this present economy oo
I rather tell the person that I can't afford it then price something that the person bombastic side eye would almost kill me.

I am bad with bargaining things oo
And I love buying some things during the wait period in the park.
The tactics i used is, whenever I am interested in buying what it's being showcased.
I will act uninterested at first and hope someone who knows how to price well to show interest.
When the person does and starts bargaining, I will then put interest.
I will buy the same price the person bargained for.
