Es verdad que más de la mitad de mi vida viví alejado de mi hermosa ciudad, pero como siempre digo, el ser correntino no se hace, se nace, y como un verdadero oriundo de la ¨tierra¨ sin ¨mal¨, amo nuestro peculiar clima y disfruto mucho nuestros extensos ¨veranos¨. Me crie en un barrio rural, donde las calles eran de arena y las veredas colmadas de vegetación, nuestra casa estaba dentro de un bosque muy cerca de una laguna, y como se pueden imaginar, como todo niño me pasaba gran parte del día nadando allí
It's true that I lived far from my beautiful city for more than half of my life, but as I always say, being a Corrientes native isn't made, it's born. And as a true native of the "land" without "evil," I love our unique climate and greatly enjoy our long "summers." I grew up in a rural neighborhood, where the streets were sandy and the sidewalks were covered in vegetation. Our house was in a forest very close to a lagoon, and as you can imagine, like any child, I spent most of the day swimming there.

Mi Papa era mecánico de ¨navíos¨, de quien herede el amor por las embarcaciones, y ha sido una de las razones del porque tome la determinación de ir a vivir a una ciudad más grande donde las oportunidades eran mucho mejor que en ¨Corrientes¨, lo cierto es que en el camino me desvié de las cosas que tenía en mente para formar una familia, honestamente no me arrepiento de mis decisiones, tengo una familia maravillosa, que vale mucho más que cualquier sueño que pude haber tenido en la adolescencia. Estos recuerdos los guardo con mucho cariño en mi corazón; las cosas que ansiaba de niño me hacían muy feliz, y aunque estoy un poco grande, nunca pierdo las esperanzas.
My father was a ship mechanic, from whom I inherited my love for boats. He was one of the reasons I decided to move to a bigger city where the opportunities were much better than in Corrientes. The truth is that along the way I strayed from the things I had in mind to start a family. Honestly, I don't regret my decisions. I have a wonderful family, which is worth a lot. More than any dream I could have had as a teenager. I hold these memories dearly in my heart; the things I longed for as a child made me very happy, and even though I'm a little older, I never lose hope.

La semana pasada tuve una grata visita, de sorpresa vino una tía que hacía muchos años no la veía. Como es una de las hermanas más chica de Mama, no es mucho más grande de edad que yo; cuando yo era un niño y ella una adolescente, aprovechábamos la hora de la siesta para hacernos una escapada a la costa del rio, era entonces que hacíamos planes de tener nuestra propia embarcación para navegar las aguas del rio. Estas siestas de verano las tenía olvidado, fue ella quien me las recordó lo bien que pasábamos las ¨vacaciones¨ de ¨verano¨ al visitar la ribera y hacer planes para el futuro. Por cosas como estas es que el ¨verano¨ para mi está lleno de vibraciones, y cada vez que me pongo a pensar en las ¨vacaciones¨, es inevitable no emocionarse
Last week I had a pleasant visit. I had a surprise visit from an aunt I hadn't seen in years. Since she's one of Mama's younger sisters, she's not much older than me. When I was a child and she was a teenager, we used to take advantage of nap time to take a trip to the riverbank. It was then that we made plans to have our own boat to navigate the waters. I'd forgotten about those summer naps; it was she who reminded me of how much fun we had on our "summer" "vacations" visiting the riverbank and making plans for the future. It's because of things like this that "summer" for me is full of vibes, and every time I start thinking about "vacation," it's inevitable not to get excited.

Cuando llamaron a la puerta jamás me hubiera imaginado tenerla parada frente a mí, estas son de esas emociones que tanto bien nos hace, y cuando voy a esta zona de la ribera me pongo pensar en todas las cosas que hacíamos y deseábamos tener. When they knocked on the door, I never would have imagined having her standing in front of me. These are the kind of emotions that do us so much good, and when I go to this area of the riverbank, I start thinking about all the things we used to do and wish we had. Life is a moment, the years pass like sand in your hands, that's why it's good to have a camera: to immortalize these beautiful moments
