In a town like mine, the daily street spaces are often an escape for the people's minds... Everyone here is accustomed to using the street to get away from the constant thinking about economic, political and social problems as much as possible... This happens more markedly since the beginning of the 21st century, when our lifestyle took a complex turn and our lives changed abruptly sometimes and more gradually at other times, but always becoming more complicated...

En un pueblo como el mío, los espacios callejeros cotidianos son con frecuencia un escape para la mente de las personas... Todos aquí acostumbramos usar la calle para apartar en lo posible el constate pensamiento sobre los problemas económico, políticos y sociales... Esto ocurre de manera más marcada desde comienzos del siglo XXI, cuando nuestro estilo de vida tuvo un giro complejo y nuestras vidas cambiaron de manera abrupta algunas veces y más gradual otras, pero siempre volviéndose algo más complejo...

Well... I wander these streets taking pictures and I use this for a change and also to escape from that turbulent mess of worries which appear in the conversations inside the town houses... Other people escape on the streets by working, getting drunk, standing on a street corner quietly observing or even chatting and spreading some neighborhood gossip... No matter how one does it, the important thing is to escape as much as possible and not to be overwhelmed by everything that happens beyond what is our possible range of action...

Bien... Yo deambulo por estas calles haciendo fotos y uso esto para cambiar y también para escapar de esa turbulenta madeja de preocupaciones las cuales aparecen en las conversaciones dentro de las casas del pueblo... Otros escapan en las calles trabajando, emborrachándose, detenidos en alguna esquina observando en silencio o incluso charlando y propagando algunos chismes de vecindario... No importa la manera en la que uno lo haga, lo importante es escapar en lo posible y no dejarse abrumar por todo aquello que ocurre más allá de lo que es nuestro radio de acción posible...

I'm not complaining, since many years ago I have learned how to deal with the surrounding complications in a more or less efficient way. Perhaps because of that kind of unconscious resilience, I tend to be more observant and I can take photographs that become part of my particular way of taking things forward without allowing myself to fall... That, from my point of view, is something I like to do... And I perceive myself to be an outsider... Many here, including many of my family, simply left in search of better places... But, I've said it before, I'm still here because I've always been here, even when my life was offices, travel, meetings and projects, I've always managed to come back to this town...

No me quejo, desde hace muchos años atrás he aprendido como lidiar con las complicaciones del entorno de manera más o menos eficiente. Quizás debido a esa especie de resiliencia inconsciente, suelo ser más observador y puedo hacer fotografías que se convierten en parte de mi particular manera de llevar las cosas adelante sin permitirme caer... Eso, desde mi punto de vista, es algo lo cual me gusta hacer... Y me auto-percibo como un extraño... Muchos aquí, incluidos muchos de mi familia, simplemente se fueron en busca de mejores lugares... Pero, ya lo he dicho antes, sigo aquí porque siempre he estado aquí, aún cuando mi vida eran oficinas, viajes, reuniones y proyectos, siempre me las arreglé para volver a este pueblo...
