Displaying my deep obsessive compulsive disorder, I keep waking up at 5 AM, having a quick breakfast and heading out of my house to the rural areas around my village to spend at least a couple of hours taking pictures there during the early hours of the morning...

Haciendo alarde de mi profundo trastorno obsesivo compulsivo, sigo despertándome a las 5 AM, desayunando rápidamente y saliendo de mi casa rumbo a las áreas rurales en los alrededores de mi pueblo para pasar cuando menos un par de horas haciendo fotografías allí durante las primeras horas de la mañana...

I say I am obsessed with this because I have been going to the nearby fields almost daily since January began. This is perhaps the best time of the year to do this kind of photography, as the drought has started and the colours become warmer and more dramatic. It is also a good opportunity to take pictures of the sunrise with horizons full of brightness and silhouettes. At the same time, I am trying to take advantage of these days before forest fires occur. There are always forest fires, so the atmosphere tends to get dirty and some grasslands get burnt and blackened, making the pictures not look so good. So as long as this doesn't happen, maybe I'll continue to be an "obsessive" to walk around these lonely corners early in the morning.... ;)

Digo que estoy obsesionado con esto porque he estado yendo a los campos cercanos casi a diario desde que comenzó el mes de Enero. Esta es quizás la mejor época del año para hacer este tipo de fotografías, pues la sequía ha comenzado y los colores se hacen más cálidos y dramáticos. También es una buena oportunidad para hacer fotos del amanecer con horizontes repletos de luminosidad y de siluetas a contraluz. Al mismo tiempo, estoy intentando aprovechar estos días previos a que ocurran incendios forestales. Siempre los hay, entonces la atmósfera suele ensuciarse y algunos pastizales se queman y ennegrecen, haciendo todo esto que las fotos no luzcan del todo bien. Así que mientras esto no suceda, quizás seguiré siendo un "obseso" de recorrer estos rincones solitarios desde temprano... ;)

As you can see, there is a great diversity of colours. It is also almost impossible to go a minute without taking a photo when I am making these kinds of records. The sunrise hours are characterised by the fact that "everything changes constantly and fast". So a photograph can be present in a moment and disappear in minutes thanks to changes in light and other factors such as fog for example. However, there is a lot of "peace" in this kind of photographic activity and I can abstract, reflect and think about very transcendental things while taking these pictures. That is perhaps what I like the most about going to the countryside to take pictures when the sun rises and the air is fresh and breathable...

Como podrán observar, la diversidad de colores es mucha. También es casi imposible estar un minuto sin hacer una foto cuando estoy haciendo este tipo de registros. Las horas del amanecer tienen como característica el que "todo cambia constantemente y rápido". Así que una fotografía puede estar presente en un momento y desaparecer en minutos gracias a los cambios de luz y otros factores como la niebla por ejemplo. Sin embargo, hay un montón de "paz" en este tipo de actividad fotográfica y yo puedo abstraerme, reflexionar y pensar en cosas muy trascendentales mientras hago estas fotos. Eso es quizás lo que más me gusta de ir al campo a hacer fotografías cuando amanece y el aire es fresco y respirable...

Black & white versions

-Versiones en blanco y negro-

Today I have also edited these photographs in Black and White versions. This is something I can't help doing, as I find that rural landscapes also have an undeniable visual charm when seen in monochrome. The editing here is a bit different than for the colour versions and I have opted to start from the original RAW and desaturate the colours with Adobe Camera Raw and then manage the levels on the JPG photo.

Hoy también he editado estas fotografías en versiones en blanco y negro. Es algo que no puedo dejar de hacer, ya que me parece que los paisajes rurales también tienen un encanto visual innegable cuando se ven en monocromo. La edición aquí es un poco diferente a la de las versiones en color y he optado por partir del RAW original y desaturar los colores con Adobe Camera Raw y luego gestionar los niveles en la foto JPG.

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.

NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.
