Here in my village, in the surrounding countryside to be more precise, the owners of land designated as pasture for grazing cattle, horses, and sheep usually allow some tall, large trees to grow. These serve as shady spots where the animals can take refuge during the hottest hours of the day. So, on foggy mornings, I often walk along the paths that cross these lands and take photographs "from the edge" to capture the convergence of the fog, the grass, the spaced-out trees, and even the fences and trails...

Aquí en mi pueblo, en los alrededores campestres más precisamente, los dueños de tierras destinadas a ser pastizales para hacer pastar vacas, caballos y ovejas, suelen dejar crecer siempre algunos árboles altos y grandes, para que estos sirvan como lugares sombreados en donde los animales se refugien durante las horas del día en los que hay mayor calor y radiación solar. Entonces, cuando tenemos mañanas repletas de neblina, yo suelo recorrer los caminos que atraviesan estas tierra y hacer fotografías "desde el borde" para aprovechar esa convergencia entre la niebla, el pasto, los árboles espaciados e incluso, las alambradas y senderos...

I found these photos in my files from early December. I didn't even remember taking these specific ones. But finding them, I decided to work on them and process them to share with you here on #Hive... Looking at each photo, I found that my favorites are the ones where I'm looking east, as they're taken in the early morning with the sun still low, providing a kind of "blank canvas" background ideal for highlighting everything I found in the foreground. In many of these photos, you'll even see the light of the sun trying to break through the dense mist, something I love to photograph and use as a compositional element...

Encontré estas fotos en mis archivos de principios de Diciembre pasado. Ni siquiera recordaba haber hecho estas específicamente. Pero al encontrarlas decidía trabajar sobre ellas y procesarlas para luego compartirlas con ustedes aquí en #Hive... Mirando cada foto encontré que, las que más me gustan son aquellas en donde estoy mirando hacia el Este, pues son horas de la mañana con el sol aún bajo, brindando así una especie de "lienzo blanco" de fondo ideal para resaltar todo lo que hallé en primer plano. Incluso, en muchas de estas fotos verán la luz del disco solar intentando aparecer en medio de la neblina densa, cosa la cual amo fotografiar y usar como elemento compositivo...

After selecting these dozen photos, I processed them similarly to all the others, maintaining the original white balance and adjusting shadows and highlights in the RAW files until I obtained details and highlights that seemed sufficiently perceptible and expressive. Then, when exporting to JPG, I used attenuation layers with blue tones, some very slight vignetting, and little else...

Después de seleccionar esta docena de fotos, me dediqué a procesarlas de manera similar a todas, manteniendo la temperatura de blancos del momento y ajustando sombras y claros en los RAW hasta obtener detalles y luces que pareciesen lo suficientemente perceptibles y elocuentes. Luego, ya al exportar a JPG, utilicé capas de atenuación con tonos de azul, algún viñeteo muy ligeroy poco más...
