INJUSTICE
The shouts of the scorned have fallen on deaf ears
The wails of the scorched have no relevance to the jury
The widowed was not shown justice
The girls were victims of the wealthy
The boys were servants to corrupt leaders
Even the judge had a chunk of the cake
The uniformed oppressed the un-informed
And those with rights had lives threatened.
Either you beat them or you join them
Either you play along, or get played
The police only needs a shake of hand
And justice would be upturned.
The masses were split for the few
The few spilled little for the masses
Yet, the richer got richer and the poor?
The voiceless paid the price for the rich
Innocence has been traded for guilt
Justice was a wishful thought to the helpless

Corruption is rampant in our system but not as rampant as in other systems. That's not an excuse because everyone should always be fair especially when dealing with someone else's life.
Thank you for your comment
You're right, there should be some humanity even in injustice
The world is full of injustices, especially those that fall on the most needy. A text where poetry becomes a cry for a more humane world. Greetings.
