Building a community on Hive
The birth of any community can be likened to that of a baby, and in medicine, we refer to stages of a child's growth and development as "developmental milestones." The implication is that, when relating a community to others, just like a child, time is factored in as a measuring tool to assess how well a community is faring.
#earn, spend, and give is still in its early stages as a community, and its growth largely depends on the admin, moderator(s), and members. I believe the major task of the community administrators and moderators is to be able to sell without mincing words the vision of the community and put in place strategies that would serve as a mission to be accomplished. The #earn, spend, and give community has been able to highlight the visions in its 'about description'; however, the earning is yet to be fully actualized. This may cause controversy with my good friend @terganftp but I must state the obvious truth, as he once described in some of his earlier descriptions of the types of people you will find on Hive. I am glad most members are holding onto their GLD tokens, which are earned after participating in the weekly prompts; however, I hope we all stand the test of time. If the tokens are worth much, would we still HODL when the goal is still a distance away? Or, would we quickly trade and make some gains? I bet many people would trade at the first bull run of GLD (unlike the recent bug). This yet, lies in selling successfully to members what the vision of the community is. Not to be far-fetched, the majority of Hivians are here for the rewards, and if the rewards would keep them loyal to the course, it is worth focusing on, as I believe the other spend and give can be inculcated gradually. The administrator can exploit the rewards of the community to attract other Hivians or keep those that have unspoken loyalty.
Unfortunately, the rewards are not attractive yet; however, members are mostly those who have passion and belief in the vision of the community. I believe if the rewards are made more attractive, traffic to the community will improve, and this may translate to more quality contributions. The community has to expose the diverse means of earnings on Hive to members beyond the index community. People want to earn; rather than giving them those earnings, expose them to ways to actually earn on the chain.
Spending and giving are two factors and traits that the human mind needs to revive and realign. Everybody spends and gives, but not necessarily sees it as a habit but as convenience. I want to believe that tasks can be assigned to bring these traits and habits to the human race. Caution and frugalness in the art of spending while the mind is trained to give sparingly.
The community can take a step further to begin a hangout, which I believe would further harvest ideas, promote the community's vision, assign tasks, maybe even giveaways, but in all, build a family with a common interest.
I must commend the administrator for taking the bold step to create and manage the community. While the admin aims at running with the vision, side attractions are a necessity to draw and keep members.

Building a community depends on every member nevertheless teaching people how to earn is a good idea, growing our network and networth subsequently.
I've heard a few comments that we should increase the userbase of the community. Personally I would much rather it be a small group of people who are like family. In the #hivelearners I've met a few great people but overall find that there are so many people it is hard to remember everyone.
In this community there are less than a dozen but I know them all...at least a little bit. I hope that's a feeling I can keep for as long as the community remains.
Personally I like the idea of giveaways. Well, sort of giveaways :) I've love to purchase different items through aliexpress and have them delivered to members (at no charge to them) in return for them writing a bit about how things went. Recently I bought an android tablet with bluetooth keyboard and mouse. They have worked very well for content creation. Unfortunately the shipping cost for me to send to a community member is more than I paid for the item to start with :(
It is an idea in the back of my mind... but then again so many ideas rolling around in there also.
Side note: I asked #hivepakistan to curate this post. It's no lazypanda but just my way to add a little value to the post.
Thank you.
I love the idea of few and committed rather than plenty and not committed
Thank you for your heart of kindness!!!
Glad my idea meets with approval :)
Also, I know its past time for a new post prompt and to rewards previous ones. I've had the flu for the 3 days and I've been pretty wiped out.
As per your recommendation I'll see what I can to do increase rewards for the loyal members :) also want to work towards a Hive Hangout (and permaculture research station ;) ... but so many ideas and so little capital (sigh)
I love the objective of this community. It is unique in what it preaches; earn, spend and give. I support the idea of hangout maybe weekly or biweekly. We need this to share idea frequently because I believe that the prompt for posting can't always be about how to grow the community. I believe in the future of this community.
Thank you very much brother
You are welcome.
