I am back with another watercolor painting! ☺️✨

This month, I thought of sticking to one subject- FOOD! Specifically, sweets!

What is your favorite kind of bread?

For this painting, I searched for croissants as my subject.

I used my pencil for the sketch and then lightly used an eraser. I then traced it with a 0.5 pen. I noticed that my hands were less shaky this time. (But it is still). I just have to put more control on the circles for the blueberries.

For the first layer, I lightly applied the color. I used a small amount of the color and more of the water. I tapped the excess water on the rug so that the water wouldn't bleed on the paper.

I learned on a YouTube video that too much water can "bend" the paper. If so, washi tapes or any tapes will do to flatten it out.

I waited for this part to dry/moist before I applied the second layer. I am a shade of brown called "ombre." It has a tone of yellow and orange and a nice saturation for this type of subject.

I was kind of nervous about starting the cream because I knew I would mess it up! Haha. 😆

I am not good at coloring a "white" object as I see it as "invisible". So applying a shadow for a white object is tricky for me. Instead of using black, I used the same shade as the blueberries and lightly applied on the corners.

I let the paper dry for the whole day before I applied the white markers that I bought from online shop. I bought the white markers with different point sizes.

It was not as opaque as I wanted but what can I expect for a $0.40 pen?🥲

But thought that this was just for practice. I am planning to buy a quality one next time.
