Tools Up! | A Co-op Game Alternative To Overcooked!
Happy weekend, y'all! ๐ฅณ
Randomly, I was scrolling in the e-shop to see what was new. The Great Deal section was my go-to because of discounted games me likey. ๐ The bright, fun colors of Tools Up! caught my attention. $1.99 for a co-cop game. Not bad! Before purchasing the game, I downloaded first the Demo version just to see what's up.
Similar to Overcooked! but here, you are not going to cook or bake but instead, paint and carpet. Okay, I was convinced! I purchased the game and was hoping that I still have money in my PayPal account. ๐ It would be an inconvenience on my part to transfer money and all. But Success! Got the game!

The controls are easy. A practice of one or two levels will make me remember the button commands. It can also be modified on the settings if you want it customized.
Sadly, I was alone. ๐ฅฒ The next time when I have guests we will play this game. It would be more fun to play this with friends, right? ๐ But now, I will secretly practice to show off to them bwhaha.๐
You can choose the character and the character's skin. I chose the chunky green-skinned witch.

For the first level, I was given a 5-minute time, perhaps the chance to look around. The character walks so slowly. Unlike in Overcooked!, there is an option to dash. I think they need to add that option.
My strategy is to find the blueprint first before starting to work. The blueprint has a list of goals. For example, in the picture, I have to install the pink carpet in the living room.
A deliveryman rang the doorbell to supply the roll of carpet. I had to get it before the third ring or else I will miss it. It will take time for the deliveryman to come back.
The installation is pretty easy. The hard part is carrying the roll nearer to where the installation was needed. So strategize! ๐

After working, Tidy Up!
Aside from the installation, I had to put the materials such as the carpet roll and blueprint outside of the house. The job is done already but tidying up as a bonus star would then open up more levels. I repeated some levels just to get the perfect score.
I got the 3 stars and a 50+ Clean bonus! ๐คฉ

My strategy would be
To look for the blueprint. When near the item, it would be borderlined with a white color so it will be easier to see even if it obstructed by a wall. The view can be changed when holding the blueprint only. I drop the blueprint near to where I am working so I can change the camera angle.
Open all the doors while I am picking up the mess. The white stuff was spilled paint thus making the floor slippery. The buffer time is annoying! ๐ Working would be much easier.
Work on one room at a time. I like to start with the walls first before the floor. I ignored the deliveryman when I am working since I still do not need the items that would be handed over.
When I am done working, I throw the items out of the house. Carpets and tiles can be thrown as well as glue paint. The latter causes spills so I just better carry it out of the house. Saves time when tidy up time.
There was a point when I got bored due to repetitive tasks. Maybe it is different when playing with friends. I also have issues with picking up items and walking. I think it needs improvement.
DLCs were availabe too and so I bought the Garden Party- The Tree House for $0.99. ๐ชด . Sad to say, it is not available on Mac the last time I check in Steam.
I would rate this game 7/10. Nice for brain exercise and entertaining friends and guests! ๐ โจ

I did not know this videogame, it looks curious its theme of having to furnish and decorate rooms against the clock, I imagine that as you mention it is designed more to play it with friends all by voice and have the accidents and laughter of trying to do things running without much planning or order hahaha
Against the clock is Hella stressful ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Hahaha yes I can imagine. ๐ But in nintendo switch, I believe it is an offline multi-player. ๐ฅน

nice spin naman sa overcooked.
pero it means it's like a puzzle, imbis na paramihan ng magawa in given time, pabilisan matapos.
maguwi ka na daw ng friends. ๐
Yup. ๐ฅณ
We played yesterday. Chaotic. ๐ No Tools Up! for Mac sad. ๐ฅฒ
