Switching My Snacks to Overnight Oats ๐Ÿฅฃ๐Ÿ“

Hello, Foodies! ๐Ÿคฉ

A couple of months ago, I started switching my snacks to overnight oats. Instead of getting energy from salty, low-nutrient snacks, I wanted to change them to foods that are healthier and make me fuller for hours.

I thought of making overnight oats, and so I bought some ingredients online. (coz it's cheaper!)

As I wait for my items to arrive, I casually watch videos of simple recipes. I do not want to be complicated ones, as I want to put my time somewhere else rather than cooking. ๐Ÿ˜† And I am a bad cook...

Ingredients: rolled oats, almonds, chia seeds, peanut butter, milk, a dash of cinnamon, and salt. Drizzled with honey.

What I like about overnight oats is that they are easy to make!

I combined the ingredients in a bowl, mix it and put them on the fridge for at least 12 hours. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I like my oats to be super soft because texture issue.

๐Ÿ“Œ I chose rolled oats over instant oats because the prior has minimal processing, so basically a healthier version of oats.

๐Ÿ“Œ This is my first time putting chia seeds on oats. I normally see them in drinks. Apparently, chia seeds can choke you if not consumed properly! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

They are like Orbeez that absorb water, and if eaten dry, they can block your esophagus.

So, I make sure to soak them before eating.

Ingredients: rolled oats, blueberries, walnuts, almonds, peanut butter, a dash of cinnamon.

๐Ÿ“Œ For peanut butter, I use the brand Skippy. I know there are a lot of healthier alternatives, but this is the one that I like. ๐Ÿคฉ

๐Ÿ“Œ I like the regular milk versus the low-fat and almond milk. Not a fan of the last two mentioned. I'm sorry. but bruh ๐Ÿ˜ซ They taste horrible...

๐Ÿ“Œ I used Himalayan salt for some palate dimension. I learned that it just has a very small percentage of healthiness compared to regular salt. So, I just wasted money on that, haha. ๐Ÿ˜†

๐Ÿ“Œ I started adding pumpkin seeds as they contain an amino acid called tryptophan for better sleep.

๐Ÿ“Œ Ahhh, it was better with fruits! I bought organic (It had too!๐Ÿ˜Š) strawberries and blueberries. It is more expensive than those in cans, but they contain a hella lot of sugar, which cancels my pumpkin seeds' potency for better sleep.

Results

After a couple of months of eating overnight oats, weight-wise, there was nothing different at all. My goal is not for weight loss but rather slowly changing my diet- a better one! โ˜บ๏ธโœจ

It made me feel full for a longer period compared to snacking on salty chips. Though I feel fuller, I do not feel sluggish or bloated. It was the salt culprit doing that, which is why I feel puffy. ๐Ÿ˜

I want to keep the overnight oats as part of my diet and further experiment on what I can add to make it tastier and yummier- hey, oats should be enjoyed, not disgusting! ๐Ÿ˜ (At least that was what my friend told me, haha).

Thanks for Reading! ๐Ÿ“

That is it for this blog. I will see you at the next one!

I need to transition to this kind of snacking as well. Any recommendations where to buy (i.e. online)? :)

How about overnight oats with yogurt?

I absolutely love overnight oats and make them pretty often in summer when it is too hot to have the normal cooked oatmeal for breakfast. So nice to have something so delish and cold for breakie :)
My most favourite one so far is with mashed banana and cacao. Sometimes I add some frozen berries (or peanut butter) in and by morning they defrost and its ready to eat.

Always when we make dietary changes everything gets better. Now I want to do it again, I feel I need more energy. A few months ago I took out of my pantry all those products that made me fat, now I need the ones that give me energy.

Overnight oats is the best. I stock them in my fridge and strawberries definitely goes well with it. Though it doesn't make me feel fuller, it's just nice way to end the day with something sweet and something that taste healthy๐Ÿ˜†
