I Checked Out a Cool Mini Exhibit about Weaving and Pottery 🧶 🏺✨

While making errands on the campus, I found a pocket exhibit- I mean, a tiny, tiny exhibit. ✨😌

This exhibit was to celebrate National Heritage Month with the theme “Preserving Legacies, Building Futures. Empowering Communities Through Heritage.”

Presenting, Habi’t Palayok! In English, Weaving and Pottery. 🙌🏻

College of Fine Arts and Design

The pieces were hung on a white wall, which made the colors stand out more. The woven pieces were lit with a warm light, making the space inviting and warm.

I just took my time looking at the art and was very careful not to get close. Up close, I can see more of the effort behind weaving. 👏🏻✨

I believe there were stories and personality in every piece. The fringes on the bottom added playfulness, and I love the color combinations! 😌✨

My favorite was the blue palette since I like the comfort of the shade. I imagine hanging it in my room. I had tried it before for a project, and yeah, those complicated patterns suddenly popped in my head. 😁

Moving on to the pots~ Instantly, I was charmed with different concepts and quirky designs.

So cutesy ~ 😫

Good night!

One of my favorites was this cat tucked in a blanket. I believe the concept of the blanket originated from the traditional Inabel blanket, made by Filipino artisans from Ilocos Norte. Kitty was chilling like a villain. Ahhh- Just looking at the collection made me want to try pottery so bad! 🐱

Ughhh a purple cake! Wait, is that a sloth with an apple on its head? What a cool concept! I wonder what was running through the artist’s mind while making this art. Maybe a sweet and fluffy daydream. ✨🎂

While looking at the collection, I was trying to decode everyone’s little story of how they came up with the concept. Such brilliant minds! 😀

Quirky designs key holder in a cactus form, a bread and egg coaster, a mushroom trinket holder, a cactus tower, and ohhh a miniature Jeepney! 🙌🏻

Though it was just a mini exhibit, I gained a lot of inspiration. I might try weaving or pottery in the future and will look back on this experience. The pieces felt personal, like a little peek into the artist’s creativity.

There is something joyful feeling when you make a physical art by yourself. 😃

Who knows?

Maybe I will make a pottery cake! 😄

Thanks for reading! 💕

Woven product with the art of color, ang pretty lang nila. My fav is that black, red and yellow color combi. Maganda din yong nasa left side the green ones. Those pots with unique design are really pretty too.
What if someone wants to buy a few piece there? They sell those din ba?
