Art Process

For this fan art, I have the opportunity to experiment with different angles. This one is from the top. My vision for this art is that Ocean healer is falling from the skies. Good thing I found a nice reference. It is hard to imagine from scratch which is why looking for the fit reference helps a lot.

Next, apply the base colors in separate layers. I worked on the cell shadows on clipped layers using a solid brush. I then blur them out using a blur brush. I added a hint of glow on the face and the jacket.

The background is a default gradient tool from the bucket tool. I used a ripple effect filter to create the whirls of blue.

Using the flat brush in glow dodge mode, I added the shine of the hair and on the hand.

Finally, adding the clouds around the character. I used a special cloud brush to create the fluffy clouds. Lastly, I added a noise filter to give it a texture.
