A Leisurely Stroll with Friends on Bayside Walks

Happy weekend! 🥰

It is the weekend and the only time to catch up with friends as we all have things to prioritize on the weekdays. As we get older, getting a schedule for us to be in one place is a struggle. 😁😅

We agreed to meet at Mary Grace cafe at 6 pm. I was the last one to arrive because the bus driver got into an argument with a traffic enforcer sigh 🥲 I am always on time, but this is one of the moments that I cannot control.

I hate being late!

I got to the meeting place 15 minutes late. Gosh, a lot of people on a weekend, no wonder. My eyes scanned the room and spotted my friends in the corner. I weaved through the chairs as I heard the chatters of a group of aunties talking about the mass, haha.

As I sat, I immediately asked for the menu to appease my annoyance with the bus driver. 😆

I got the spaghetti with meatballs. The serving is big for me. 😅 Just by the looks, I can see that this is a flavorful and savory. The first bite made my annoyance disappear. 😆 The pasta was cooked al dente, which is the right consistency for me. I like to chew my pasta. The meatballs were tender and generous. Worth my $8 on this one. 🍝

We got into our conversation as we savored our meal.

The meal was super heavy on the stomach, so I invited them to have a stroll on the bayside. Inevitably, I cannot resist taking a picture of the Ferris wheel. I have never tried riding it because I imagine myself panicking, haha. My intrusive thought to open the lock when I feel claustrophobic. 😰

Since it is night, I see a panoramic view of people instead of the sea. Families, couples, friends- they are here to feel the sea air and gaze at the night lights. The best part is it is free! 😄

It is different when I visit the bayside during the night. The cast of warm lights makes me want to walk for more without noticing the passing of time. No one can hear our conversations as everyone has their own thing going on. It is like a noise filter background as I remember it.

We got curious about what this shop has to offer. I have never been to a pet lodge cafe. I was wishing to see a cute kitty, hehe.

It was clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Aside from dining in, they have a pen for dogs. Alas, no pets!

Grooming tools, bowls, bags, and other pet stuff were displayed for grabs.

We needed a little dessert to wash down the umay. Umay in English means that you got fed up with the food particularly overwhelming oiliness so you craved something sweet. I thought of looking for a yoghurt drink in the kiosk lane. The staff were well dressed and organized. I can't pinpoint anything bad about it.

This was my first time to try this brand. The display of their products in a well-lit kiosk is somewhat a come-on bait for people strolling, not gonna lie we were victims in a good way.

For $2.89, I got a blended velvety yoghurt and fresh strawberries. The first sip killed my brain cells. I did not see that brain freeze coming. 😆 The first sip had the tanginess of the yoghurt, which is what I was looking for to cleanse this umay. In general, I like tangy or sour food. In the end-taste is the sweetness of the strawberries. Just the right balance of everything.

We looked for a concrete bench while we sipped our yoghurt drinks. Under the warm lights, we just had a light-hearted conversation- like everything that we thought of. We never had a dull moment or a dead air. The laughter and banter never stopped when I am with my friends. As it got closer to midnight, we thought it was time to part ways. I was worried too that I might miss the last bus ride, or else I would have to pay for an expensive booked cab. We said our casual farewells and hopped into the bus. With a happy heart, I am looking forward to another crazy catch-up with my friends again. 🥰
