This Minute Is Passing....
I think it is nice to point out that you don’t have to live till you’re eighty before you have life lessons. Every day we live, we learn something. Whether it is about ourselves, other people or society at large, we’ve just got to learn something.
Sometimes those lessons are learnt easily, just by observing but some other lessons have to be learnt the hard way. Whether it’s cause of our mistakes that resulted in grave consequences or things that befell loved ones. Those lessons mould us, teach us and most of all stay with us for the remainder of our lives. I’ve learnt quite a lot of lessons in my life but I’ll be sharing today.
Power In Your Tongue
We hear these things a lot, but because of that, we take it for granted. Some of us even make fun of the statement that there is power in your tongue. So, we say, “How come I’m rebuked and asked to watch my mouth when I say I’ll die but ridiculed when I say I’ll be richer than Elon Musk?” To be honest, I don’t know why that is so either. You can’t fold your arms and be richer than Elon but rest assured, that it’s easy to die by continuously mentioning it. I didn’t make the rules. That’s just how it is.
Another phase to this is the speech we utter most times. I cannot emphasize enough how necessary it is to watch what we say. Falling victim severally to the things I’d said, coming back to bite me, rather aggressively in the ass. The worst part is that most times, it may not be what we said exactly but a twisted, false version by some other person but it would still be traced to us. I’ve learnt to count my words. Speak with caution. Being constantly aware that I’m accountable for every word I utter.
You Can’t Please Everyone
I put this in here because I’ve learnt this one, in particular the hard way. Many times we do things in life, bend our principles, put ourselves through discomfort, and generally displease ourselves to no end because we want people to like us. We crave acceptance. We crave tolerance. We crave understanding. And so because of that, we go out of our way to make sure that everyone is happy with us, that everyone is pleased with us. But that’s the thing. Everyone can’t be pleased with you. And sadly, in our bid to make sure everyone is happy, we end up displeasing the same people we deprived ourselves of comfort for. Life is too short to spend it trying to make everyone happy. It’s an impossible task by the way, so why don’t you just be true to yourself instead?
Make The Most Of Your Time
Sometimes we realize too late that we don’t have all the time we think we have. We dawdle, we procrastinate, we keep aside, and we forget because we believe that there will be time. And while a few of us are lucky to get through life without those regrets, some of us are not that fortunate.
So, you wake up in the morning and decide to make that day count. Do that good deed today, make that investment today, call that person you’ve been procrastinating to call. Don’t keep that book aside or that skill aside and say you’ll pick it up tomorrow cause it could be too late. I know a lot of us are tired of hearing things like these. But it only takes an experience. A single act of negligence opens the floodgates for a chasm of perpetual regrets.
Whatever the momentary distraction, we would realize in the long run that it just wasn’t worth it. “This minute is passing...make it count.” I read that in a book once. It was a line I picked up and held dear to my heart even though it’s almost ten years since I’d read it.
These life lessons are personal, but I think it’s something a lot of us could learn from. Knowing the words that come out of our mouths, staying true to ourselves and making each day count. These are a few of the most important lessons I’ve learnt. And I’m glad I did. No matter how early. Or late.

.Great lessons Jhymi, we live and we learn, everyday is an opportunity to learn something new if only you will open yourself to it, our brain was made in such a way that it ought to keep absorbing new information and data all the time, thanks for sharing
You're welcome. It was a pleasure participating. And you're right on the information part. As long as we live, we've got to learn.🤗
Recently, some new friend I made started to consider me a traitor. Why? Well, simply because something fell in favour for me and not then as well, when it was their fault it didn't. I'll take some hit and admit that I should mentioned when it happened for me, but I unintentionally didn't.
I have tried to make get understand how I didn't intend such, big to no avail. It'll normally bug me, bit I have come to understand that I can't be down because I can't please someone else. So I let them be and accepted that I can't be friends with the entire world, and we are all a Thanos in someone else's story.
This is wholesome, Fangy.
That's true. You can't always be the hero. I personally don't mind being a villain in someone's story if my actions were just out of self preservation. And I'm sorry your friend blames you for something that was out of your direct control.
Glad you like it, Minion.🤗
I fall short in that category too. Procrastinating I mean. I delay a lot which makes no sense. If there is anything I would want it is to effectively manage my time.
And I keep saying that the day I let what people think about me actually get to me, I would stop growing. Because it is a fact that you can't please everyone.
Still trying to get a hang of that one myself. Properly allocating my time. It's such a necessary skill but laziness comes in the way.
It just can't happen. Be you. They still not gon like you anyways.🌺

Life is short, don't give a fluff and just do it wee t 🦉
That's exactly what I'll do.🤗
Glad to hear it.
You shared some very important life lessons here but the last one is the most important one in my opinion. Time is running and no one can stop it and we can never get it back doesn't matter how much we try. We just can try to make the best use of it.
Yeah, make the most of our time. It's really the best way to go.🌺
Thanks for your warm comment @intishar
Thank you for sharing these valid points. We can't please everyone (including ourselves) and it is vital to live within the context of today, not tomorrow (in terms of delivering goods and services)
I'm glad you think so James... pleasing everyone can never turn out well at any turn. So it's best to just live yourself.🤗
Great lessons here, especially in making use of our time, time waits for no one and so we must be productive with our time in other to live the lives of our dreams.

These are some really thoughtful life lessons. In one way or another, I have learnt these lessons and I'm glad I did actually. Imagine learning to be true to yourself at eighty😅
This was a lovely read. Top kid(in your voice)

You are very correct. When you say something negative, it tends to come to pass very fast and easily because we have a lot of falling angels in the firmament who are looking for prey to devour because they don't have any glory in heaven. Not that what we profess positively doesn't come to pass, but positivity goes along with our level of faith, this is just my own idea.
All the way from #dreemport
Those points are the key points for success, it is good to make use of your time wisely in other to achieve your goal, how can you have a vision to be richer like Elon Musk and fold your arms without any positive vibes in you, do money fly like a kite, your points are so valid for people who will make use of it vividly. Thank you for this write up.
