Results' Week

I believe a lot in speaking good into a new week. Speaking positivity into it. It may seem like I’m being too reflective these days, but life genuinely teaches me lessons every day, so I have no choice but to talk about it. I haven’t been very active on the Blockchain, and that’s because of the barrage of activities I have going on offline. It’s completely engaging, but then writing here makes me happy, so I know that no matter what, I’ll be back.

Anyway, I was talking about lessons and growth, and I’m so glad that my ears, mind and heart are more attentive to pick up certain things. I saw the results of three of the exams I wrote last semester. There’s a particular course that is constantly giving everyone heartache. It is taught by a lecturer that can be described as diabolical in the nicest. You know that kind of lecturer who takes pride in students’ failures and openly threatens you if you think of challenging his marking, yeah, that’s the kind of lecturer this man is.

And I remember thinking to myself of the possibilities of lashing a day being a member of this man’s class. We hadn’t seen our results and this lecturer made it a point of duty to come to our class when we had his course and make our blood run cold with tales of how abysmally we performed and how if we saw an E, it meant that we were owing him because he must have most likely added scores for us to land there.

Through it all, it will be most apt for this lecturer to be described as a principality, and while everyone has their hearts in their mouths, waiting almost impatiently for the other shoe to drop, I just knew I had to ask for mercy. There was so much at stake, and I couldn’t afford to have a below-average grade. Remember those friends and reading partners I had to separate from, yeah, so leaving that friendship automatically made us academic rivals. And then, as you know, there will be the others that just wouldn’t like you.

Amongst all of these and many more, I just knew I couldn’t afford to have a bad result. I saw my result two days ago, and I couldn’t help the tear that slipped. The results were released online but the number of people that came to congratulate me afterwards made me understand that a lot of people had been patiently waiting as well for my results to come. Either way, I’ve at least for now, shut the wagging tongues. Pure bliss, I tell you.

There are other things I want to share. Stories of growth and leadership and travails. I learnt a lesson this week guy. I mean, I meant more than one lesson, but the one that relates to this is that if you’re a student, you owe yourself academic excellence. It shouldn’t ever be taken for granted. Oh yeah, I just realized one more thing I should have shared with you. But maybe another time. Do remind me, and please have a wonderful week ahead.

Yeah, you will always be back here dear because it's obvious writing is your passing and hive block chain is your family... And when passion meets the right family, a return is inevitable.
