My Favourite Female Characters (Part 1)
I’d finished another amazing book yesterday and then I went straight to TikTok. My fyp(for you page) is currently the Booktok side of TikTok. And I wanted to see people’s reviews of the book. Then I saw an author talking about her all-time favourite book female characters and I thought that I should do a book review on mine since I’ve encountered a lot of amazing female characters. Officially, this would be my first book review and I’m pretty excited to talk about these awesome women, even though they’re fictional. For this week, I’ve selected three of them and they’ll be ranked from the bottom up.
3. Lily Bloom (It Ends With Us) by Colleen Hoover
There are a lot of things to admire about this lady. Strength of character is something that appeals to me a lot. Sometimes, the female characters could be fickle and lack a distinct personality that would endear the readers to her. To make the reader stand for her or root for her. But Lily Bloom possessed that quality in spades.
It Ends With Us is a pretty popular book. I’m not exactly a fan of books that are overly hyped but once I eventually read the book, I understood that people were enamoured with it not because of Lily’s love interest but because once disaster struck, once her eyes were opened and could see the repetitive trauma her Mum went through playing out in her own life, she didn’t make more excuses, she cut her losses and strived to break free. And quite admirably too. Although, I guarantee that you may hate her at some point, you’d still love her in the end.
2. Julie Madison (Perfect) by Judith Mcnaught
I first read this book in 2019. It’s the Book 2 of the Second Opportunities Series. But I hadn’t known that till earlier this year when I read it again. A lot of things begin to dawn on you when you read a book the second time and even though Julie was just as captivating as she was the first time I read, I understood her personality more this time.
Julie Madison falls for the last man she should fall for. A man who is too scared to give her the love she wants even though he feels similarly or even deeper. Julie Madison even though she faces scorn from the world at some point for her decisions that were not even entirely her fault. She shows such amazing strength of character and stands by what she believes. A witty, selfless school teacher, Julie is proof that brains and beauty are not impossible.
1. Lana Myers (Mind F*CK Series) by S. T. Abby
Last but not least is this woman. If unadulterated wit, humour, class, determination and brilliance were a person, it is, without a doubt, Lana Myers. If you ever thought it would be impossible for you to fall hard for a serial killer, but not just that, want to see her succeed in more killing sprees, Lana made it possible.
What happens when a serial killer gets knowingly entangled with the FBI Profiler who is not just working on her case, but seeking to find the “man” behind these brutal murders? It’s always exciting when the audience knows something a character doesn’t. I keep Lana as number one because she kept me on my toes the entire time. Many times, our heroines would do things that will make us despise them but Lana’s ruthlessness and deadass smartness made me love her more with each scintillating chapter. Mind F*ck Series has five books in its series and the image above is of the fifth, which is the final part.
There you have it guys, my three picks of the week. Three powerful women who show the world that confidence, willfulness and brains are some of the biggest assets a woman could possess.
I may do in-depth reviews on the actual books later on but I hope anyone jumping onto these reads may find them just as thrilling as I did. I’d like to know your thoughts in the comments if you’ve read any of them or what your general views are.

"It Ends with Us" is a great read.
I listened to the Audiobook and I fell in love with the book.
Do you read the hardcopy or you read on your phone?
When you read a book the second time there will be more eye-openers and more insight will be gotten from the same book you've read the previous time.

Currently, I don't read as much as I used to. Some of the books mentioned are unfamiliar to me, or it could be that they don't align with my preferred genre.
It's impressive how proficient you are in writing. You have a deep appreciation for reading, which has undoubtedly contributed to your skill.

Call me a weirdo but I have never thought to rank the characters from books I've read :D I was always treating books as a whole. Sometimes I would rooting for one or another character, but rarely. It is interesting thing to do:)
Haven't read any of those books, but points you are making seem to be valid. Although, I cannot really tell, can I? I have to believe you on that one;)
Interesting books you've got there.
Paint it all red seems like a must read and also interesting, though I'm not a fan of novels (I can't read those big- looking books with hundreds of pages 🤣).
#Dreemerforlife.
Nice remark, amazing reviews of the three books read. I love to find the one from Lily Bloom IT ENDS WITH US. I like to read about the story and see how her qualities you described played out .

I read literary books occasionally apart from William Shakespeare Boks I was forced to read during my secondary school days as an art student because I'm not really a fan of long text, that is why I prefer poetry over everything else.
There is a saying, the book you read determines your type of personality, that statement was true until I got to the last book which is a serial killer series 😅, I get you must have liked the way the character was portrayed in the book.
It got me thinking, what kind of person are you UYO, should i be worried 😅
