Coffee Blind!

First things to note, I’ve never been on a blind date. And I haven’t known anyone personally who’s been on a blind date. But I have watched a lot of blind date shows and I think it’s pretty cool and exciting for the most part, not seeing someone’s face and deciding to be with them based on their personality, the things they say and how they respond. Especially since the body and all of that have become so idolized that people lose track of what really matters. We’re not going into that today though.

So, like I said in the beginning, I’ve never been on a blind date. But I at least know coffee, and happen to love coffee too so I immediately jumped when I saw this prompt and had most of these questions pop up in my head at the beginning instance.

The first one would obviously be, do you like coffee? It’s not enough to judge someone based on this but of course, it’s necessary to know how the person feels about this since there’s a potential plan for this person to be your date. And if the answer is yes, I’d proceed to the next one which I think is usually what follows the first question.

How do you take your coffee? Do you have any preferences in the preparation or drinking or both? This is a necessary question in my opinion. I like my coffee moderately hot and usually with milk and a little honey. But he may his with spices like cinnamon or nutmeg. I have a friend who’s preferential to nutmeg in his coffee. Or he may prefer almond milk or oat milk in his coffee to regular milk or cream. He may like drinking only from a particular mug or prefer cold brew to any other brewing method. The possibilities are endless.

What’s your go-to coffee shop order? It’s necessary to ask this because we all have that one drink type, coffee flavour that would mostly always be the first choice when we’re in a rush or we just want to chill. And when he answers that, I’d ask how he came to discover that this is his favourite. Coffee plus a good story would definitely have me hooked, so yeah.

The next question would probably be if he would rather enjoy his cup of coffee alone in a cozy cafe or share it with someone special in a scenic, outdoor environment. I’ve got to know what this person’s coffee ritual is. Or how strictly he takes to drinking his coffee. A lot of people may be more casual about it but then some others are strictly alone, by the balcony facing the rising sun and so on.

A bit more on the fun side, I would ask him, if you were a type of coffee, what would you be and why? I mean, I wouldn’t bat an eye in choosing to be a mocha. For obvious reasons. Who wouldn’t be thrilled by such chocolatey goodness? But then his could be a regular espresso, or worse. Hehe. On a side note, I’d personally be looking forward to what his answer would be. Not sure why.

Last but not least...I mean I could go on forever to questions like, what’s your favourite coffee memory or if you would drink one type of coffee for the rest of your life, which would it be? But I think my final question, due to the nature and purpose of the show would be to describe his ideal coffee date. What would we do? Where would we go? What would we eat on the side and all of that.

With the way I’ve gotten this all down, I think I should definitely go on a coffee-themed blind date soon enough. Or what do you think? Anyways over to you guys. Are there any other coffee-themed questions you feel should be here that I missed? Spill the beans!

These questions...these questions. What I particularly like about them is that they are not "yes or no" questions. They are the kind that could inspire interesting converstaions, and from those conversations, personality reveal and some level of bonding can happen. That's why I think they are thoughtful and thought-provoking ones.

Even if the responses you get turn out to be way different from what you expect (or less), his mannerisms and personality could be endearing if they align with your values. It sure is something I would like to watch and enjoy...

I mean if I ever went on one that turned out to be so interesting, there's no way I wouldn't share it. I don't expect him to have all the answers the way I want. But it certainly would make for interesting conversations. Thank you, Jay.🌺

The way we drink coffee, our favorite brand and even the preparation say a lot about us. Our tastes are based on our personalities developed throughout our lives.☕

Thanks for sharing.
Good day.

I don't think there's a better way to put it. Our preference of coffee is a tell to our personality. Really chic. !LUV 🌺

I feel that after asking so many detailed questions, you'd have a great concept of what type of people they were. I like how you consider more in-depth personality traits with your asks, I have a feeling you'd come away with a winner as long as one was there lol!

Now as for coffee blind dates, I love that for you! I'd be over the moon reading a post about that 😉 hehe 💚 !LUV

I mean, I would expect to get the best after these questions, right? But I would let you know if I ever go on one.😄
Have you been to any blinddates, Gee?

That was an amazing write-up and it was really interesting.

Getting amazing answers to questions asked will help and as well enable you to decide if the person in question is your type or not.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

I really liked the coffee question associated with memories. I'm sure we all have great memories because coffee is always present in our social relationships. Great publication dear @jhymi . A big hug from Maracay.

Ask an African babe or guy these questions and they’ll never accept to go on a date with you again.😂😂

We Africans don’t really like coffee you know. But talk about eba and the likes and we would be there.😂

We drink oo, who told you?😂

And it's supposed to be a coffee themed blind date. Normally, that kind thing doesn't concern blind date.😄

Very interesting questions. It is always fun to have a conversation around a beverage or food as it is something that people like and might have an opinion on. I would think of myself as a iced coffee shake, cool and comfortable and makes you feel happy and restful :D

Cheers from a @dreemerforlife
