Splinterlands: Winning because my opponent electrified himself to death
Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because my opponent used Shock Trooper.
Featured cards
Shock Trooper| is a water monster that costs 4 mana. It starts with electrified. It learns swiftness at level 3 and magic reflect at level 6. I don't use this card very often because of the damage it does to the entire team, but it is a solid choice in back to the basics where abilities don't work.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Briar Patch and Super Sneak. This means that all monsters gain the thorns ability. Melee monsters also gain the sneak ability. There is also 16 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for dragon.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Marlai Singariel | 6 | Summoner | +1 magic |
Halfling Refugee | 1 | 1st | Weary |
Moxian Rebel | 4 | 2nd | Weapons Training |
Thanalorian Scion | 5 | 3rd | Void Armor |
Total Mana: | 16 |
I use Marlai Singariel for its +1 magic damage. Halfling Refugee is my tank up front to take hits. Moxian Rebel is an extra damage dealer, but I don't have any monsters to make use of its ability. Thanalorian Scion is my backup tank in case my opponent is focused on physical damage in the last spot.
My plan is to have my magic monsters deal damage, but I was unsure whether or not to put Scion in the first spot or the last spot. I ended up choosing the last spot because I thought it would be more useful there against the sneak monsters. Refugee is a great card with decent health and low mana cost so I used it as my tank. It has decent attack so even if it dies, it can deal as much damage as it is countered.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that the match could go either way. My opponent has some powerful magic monsters, and it depends on whether or not I can last long enough. It seems my choice to use Moxian Rebel might have been a bad idea.
Round 2
I lost two monsters and I am left with just one left, but my opponent still has both monsters. I do think this match could still go either way because his team will take damage every turn.
I ended up winning this match a few rounds later because of the electrify killing off his monster. My last monster had no more armor, and I barely won.
Conclusion
The battle this time did not play as I expected, but I am glad that I won. I guess I using Scion was the best choice because it let me tank the last few hits. This match could have gone either way, but next time, I should try to not use Rebel when I can't use the weapons training. It just doesn't have enough health to tank hits in these low mana fights.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Wow you won because of the void magic. How much is the void magic card on the market?
It shows the price of 1 BCX at $1.79. It's an epic rebellion card.
That was close! It's a tricky card, you need to win quick
Yea. I won because I managed to outlast my opponent but it was close.
this is really risky strategy but sometimes it pays off :)
Yea. I wasn't expecting to see my opponent use the card. I was so close to losing.
