Splinterlands Weekly Challenge Battle BATTLE MAGE SECRETS! Aim True
Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Aim True rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Aim True, explosive weaponry and keep your distance. This means that no attacks will miss, no melee monsters can be used and all monsters gain the blast ability. There is also 44 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, death, or dragon splinter.
The summoner I choose to use this time is Thaddius Brood. In this match, reducing magic damage and health will be helpful since melee monsters can't be used.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Thaddius Brood | 4 | Summoner | -1 magic and health |
Chaos Animator | 3 | 1st | Void |
Grimbardun Smith | 6 | 2nd | Immunity |
Djinn Muirat | 9 | 3rd | Void Armor |
Witch of Warwick | 5 | 4th | Life Leech and bloodlust |
Nimbledook Ranger | 7 | 5th | Double Strike and snipe |
Dhampir Stalker | 7 | 6th | True Strike |
Total Mana: | 41 |
My plan is to have some no attack monsters up front to survive while my backline does damage. After that is a Djinn Muirat with void armor to survive longer. From there, I have some damage dealers without that much health. I have a life leech and bloodlust monster along with a double strike gladiator and my highest ranged damage monster that I had available. I don't have any way of preventing that blast damage so that is why I opted for tankier monsters up front.
Round 1
At first glance, it's going to be a tough match. My opponent has a level advantage and he also has a large speed advantage too. It doesn't help that he has focused on ranged monster so my summoner won't be helping me much.
Round 2
My opponent demolished my tankers by moving first but I was able to take out a few monsters afterwards with the rest of my damage dealers. It's not looking great for me though because my opponent will be attacking first again. So most of my monsters will be dead before I can attack.
Round 3
As I expected, most of my damage dealers died off quite fast. There is no way I am winning this match.
My ranged monster couldn't attack from the first spot so I lost like I expected.
Conclusion
The battle did not go as I expected, but there wasn't much I could do against the level and speed difference. I do think that I did quite well and my strategy of having tankier monsters up front was working out. The only issue is that my opponent was faster than me and this didn't let me do as much damage as I expected to. It's hard to beat level advantage and I did take out half of my opponent's team.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
