Splinterlands: Swamp Spitter's Repair is a good way to keep your tank alive

Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Sand Worm.

Swamp Spitter is a water monster that costs 7 mana. It starts with repair. It learns Giant Killer at level 6. I have this card at level 5 so it only has repair, but my gold foil summoners are a bottleneck when it comes to brawl. So brawl tends to cap out this card at level 3. I like using this card because repair can be quite useful to help monsters stay alive

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Manuevers, Lost Magic, and Lost Legendaries. This means melee monsters gain the reach ability, and no magic monsters or legendary cards can be used. There is also 23 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for earth.

I use Kelya Frendul| as my summoner for the +1 speed and armor. Alva the Crusher is my tank because of the shield and bloodlust ability. Then I have Cruel Sethropod as a backup tank since it can attack due to the ruleset. I have Swamp Spitter after that to keep my monsters alive, and my last monster is just a ranged damage dealer.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match is to my advantage, but anything could happen. My opponent can't do too much damage against me, but the repair will offset some of the damage. If I can kill off a few monsters, I can win, but my melee monsters are useless at the start due to his summoner.

Round 5

round 5.png
I took out my opponent's tank, so there is one less monster to deal damage to me. With this, my melee monsters can finally start to deal damage, and with the repair offsetting the damage that I take, I have this match won so long as I don't miss too much.

I ended up winning this match a few rounds later because I didn't miss.

Conclusion

The battle this time played out exactly how I thought it would. Alva stayed alive due to the repair from Swamp Spitter, and once I took out my opponent's tank, I was able to win without any issues. There wasn't much my opponent could do when the repair healed most of the damage dealt. It's too bad I couldn't land any bloodlust and my melee damage was nerfed, but things worked out after I let the battle play out.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

This card with keyla is very powerful and useful, with other summoners so and so

I think it's useful with other summoners, but its best when used with Keyla.

Swamp Spitter really pulled its weight in this match. I see that repair can be a lifesaver in drawn out battles, and it's great it makes such a big difference here

Yea. It works out well when magic monsters aren't used, and the monsters can survive through its armor.

The game was already lost before you started, but I think the Swamp splitter gave you a chance, and it changed the course of the game. Good win you have here.

Yea. I thought there was a chance that I could lose, but it worked out well in the end. The repair was the biggest contributor to the fight.
