Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Isgald Vorst can stack bloodlust easily in Explosive Weaponry

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles, with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because I used Isgald Vorst

Featured cards

Dread Tafarian is an earth splinter that costs 9 mana. This splinter starts with the opportunity and bloodlust ability. This card also learns piercing at level 6.

This is a great card, but it's unfortunate that you can't use Gladiators too often outside of Brawl. I do think that it's one of the better gladiators out there because the opportunity just makes it easier to stack Bloodlust. I used this quite often before they moved out the summoners out of modern. One thing that is great about bloodlust is that it will work when an enemy dies to counter damage or blast.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

rule set.png

The ruleset this time is Explosive Weaponry and Are you Entertained. This means that you can use an extra gladiator and that all monsters gain the blast ability (damage is spread to nearby units). There is also 32 mana available, and I can use fire, water, death, or dragon splinter.

SplinterMana CostPositionReason
Kelya Frendul4Summoner+1 speed and armor
Alva the Crusher61stShield and Bloodlust
Demented Shark62ndInspire
Isgald Vorst53rdOpportunity and Bloodlust
Sultry Barmaid54thStun and Ambush
Swamp Spitter75thRepair
Total Mana:33

I use Kelya Frendul as my summoner for the +1 speed and armor. Alva the Crusher is my tank because it has the shield ability. Then I have Demented Shark with Inspire as a support monster. My third monster is Isgald Vorst. My last two monsters are ranged monsters with some good support abilities.

The plan is to kill my opponent as fast as possible. I have my summoner increase armor and speed to help me in this fight. The inspire is used to help Isgald Vorst kill monsters. It doesn't hurt to have an ambush monster as it gives me an extra attack early on in the fight, and the stun can help me reduce some damage. My last monster is a repair monster to help me stay alive.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I have the advantage in this fight due to my summoner increasing my speed and armor. My opponent has a few fast monsters, but I have a few as well. The magic monsters are slow, though, so Isgald Vorst will be able to wipe one out before my opponent gets to attack. This will leave my opponent with one more magic monster, which is not a big threat to my tank.

Round 3

round 3.png
A few rounds have passed, but I have yet to lose a single monster. The repair from swamp biter is working out well to keep my monsters alive, and Isgald Vorst has managed to kill off 3 monsters for a stronger bloodlust. This match is my win now, and I just don't think there is much my opponent against that buffed up Isgald Vorst.

I ended up winning this match later that round. Isgald Vorst demolished all three monsters.

Conclusion

The battle this time did play out as I planned. Isgald Vorst was just a beast. It managed to kill off every single one of my opponent's monster when combined with the blast. Once that bloodlust starts to stack, there is nothing my opponent can do. The rest of my monsters did help out as well to get me this win. My opponent had a decent lineup, but those magic monsters couldn't stay alive long enough to wipe out my monsters.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
