Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Dhampir Infiltrator helped me beat a maxed level deck
Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game and there are some interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. Lately the battles have been rough as I get matched with quite a few people who have higher-level cards than me and I was able to beat a maxed-level deck a few times. In this post, I showed one of those cases.
Featured card: Dhampir Infiltrator
Dhampir Infiltrator is a reward dragon splinter that costs 4 mana. It has the ability double strike and sneak from the very first level. At level 5, it learns cripple and at level 8, it learns affliction. As a damage dealer, it's a good choice and I like how it can target the backline of my opponent.
Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Tis But Scratches. This means that all monsters gain the cripple ability. There are 13 mana available and I am left with the choice of water, life, or dragon splinter.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Quix the Devious | 4 | Summoner | -1 speed and range attack |
Pelacor Conjurer | 2 | 1st | Magic Reflect and Flying |
Soul Fiend | 0 | 2nd | Filler |
Vruz | 2 | 3rd | Sneak and Martyr |
Dhampir Infiltrator | 4 | 4th | Double Strike and Sneak |
Chaos Agent | 1 | 5th | Dodge |
Total Mana: | 13 |
I used Quix the Devious as my summoner so my opponent gets a debuff of -1 speed and ranged attack. My lineup starts off with Pelacor Conjurer as my tank with magic reflect and flying. Then I have a filler monster to take a hit followed by my two sneak monsters. These are my damage dealers and one of them has martyr while the other has double strike. In my last spot is a monster with dodge to delay those sneak monsters. So my entire strategy is dependent on taking out my opponent's backline.
Round 1
Looking at the difference between the lineup, I think I am in danger because my opponent has maxed level cards and his summoner also gives him +1 armor. He also has a monster with both repair and tank heal. I am glad that my cards are focused on the backline though. It's not a complete loss though because I think the ruleset is my favor due to double strike.
Round 2
I killed one monster on my opponent's side and dodge one attack so my lineup has a slight advantage now.
Round 4
I lost two monsters while my opponent only lost 1. I was able to take out that ranged monster in the back so I was able to reduce the damage. At least it's lined up so that my Dhampir Infiltrator can get that marytr buff when Vruz dies. I'll just fast forward to the end because it's a battle to see whether or not I can kill my opponent's Sethropod first or Dhampir Infiltrator dies
I won the match because I didn't miss any of my attacks. It was a very close match though because my Dhampir Infiltrator was down to 1 health left.
Conclusion
The battle this time did not go exactly as I expected because I was not expecting my opponent to come in with repair, tank heal, and triage. However, I dodged one attack toward the start and this was the deciding factor in this match. I played according to the ruleset and that double strike was the winning ability in the match. Dhampir Infiltrator buffed by the martyr took out the last monster standing in my way.
