Splinterlands Last Season of Chests (Focus and Season)

The Splinterlands season ended earlier this week so I want to review my rewards and check up on some things in the game. The gameplay has changed a lot and I am nowhere close to gold rank anymore after they removed the level cap. I lost way more than I would like and at this point I wonder if wild is better for me. Either way, I will stick with modern for another season or two to see if it works out and if it doesn't, I'll make a change. If you didn't know, this is the last season with focus or seasonal chests. We will be getting glint instead now going forward and we can pick what we want from the rewards.

Season Rewards

Compared to last season, my rewards were about the same as last season. I got kicked down to Silver so there were more chests and I honestly think that my rewards would have been better if I didn't get 2 legendary cards last season. This season I only got 1 but I do think that I came out better this time around due to the number of cards and a gold foil card. It's the last time I will see the season rewards like this as the system will change to glint going forward.

Gladius Packs

I was able to collect 9 packs since the last time I opened packs. I didn't get many packs the previous season so it looks like I made up for it this time. Overall, I think it was a pretty good pack opening as I got 2 epic cards and a decent amount of rare/common cards.

I was able to upgrade Captain Katie to level 4. It only gains 1 magic attackfrom this. This card has bloodlust and snipe. With an extra attack, this card will be able to stack bloodlust easier and it's a good card to have.

I was able to upgrade Alfredo to level 4. This only gives it one more health so it doesn't do much. It is a low mana card with bloodlust so it has its uses. If I can level it up one more time, I can get close range and that would be nice to have.

The last card that I upgraded was Gorth. This card only gained 1 health as well. So outside of bloodlust, there isn't much difference and I don't use this card much.

SPS

My SPS rewards were higher and it looks like it has recovered to an extent. Brawls are giving a lot more and I was able to win more in modern. I did do a few fights in Wild towards the end so there wasn't much SPS on that end. However, I do think I might mix things up depending on how I am feeling.

My pool reward for the season is 138.267 SPS. I plan on staking all of this along with all of my staking rewards for a total of 317.292 SPS. The total SPS was around what I usually expected. I stacked up the VOUCHERS and I did not sell during the wagons earlier this month. So I plan on stacking them for now and waiting for a new opportunity in the future.

Conclusion

The ranked battles were slightly better because I didn't get crushed by so many max decks at the start or the end. However, I am nowhere to close to gold in modern. I have decided to use some energy in wild from now on to see if things are easier there and then decide where to end up in the new system.
