Splinterlands First Season of Glint, Merits and SPS
The Splinterlands season ended earlier this week so I want to review my rewards and check up on some things in the game. The reward system is different and I am fighting in Wild League more for the new Glint. It's different now and I have to get used to the new system.
Season Rewards
The new system returns double the Glint that you earned in your season. Most of my Glint was done in the Wild League so I earned around 17.5k Glint from ranked battles and double that is 35k. A few days before the end of the season, the reward would have been based on your highest league but that changed because it could be exploited. It's too bad that my reward dropped quite a bit but I understand the reasoning for the game.
Gwen's Glint Shop
Using the glint, I bought some card packs and I will talk about what I got. I am a bit disappointed after looking at all the rewards though. I did buy 10 of the three lowest rewards before the season ended so it would reset for this season.
Above is what I got from my 150 Glint rewards and I bought 20 (10 from last season and this season). It's a bit disappointing as it was mainly common and rare cards.
From my 400 Glint packs, I did get a legendary card and some rare cards. Other than that, I don't think there was too much out there that was good.
From my 1k Glint packs, I did get some gold foil rare cards and I got a decent number of water summoners. So I don't think it was that bad but it was a bit disappointing to not see an epic or legendary card.
From my 2.5k Glint packs, I did get an epic card and I was very disappointed with this pack.
Overall, I am a bit happy for my first 30 that I opened but with the packs that I opened this season, I am a bit disappointed.
Gladius Packs
I have been able to collect 7 packs since the last time I opened packs. It was decent but I do think that it was a bit disappointing this time. I did get an epic card though.
I was able to upgrade Krash Wanderford to level 5. It only gains 1 speed from this. This card has swiftness, bloodlust and thorns. Overall, not much will change because of the speed unless I give it an attack using weapons training. I don't really think I will use it much but it is nice.
I was able to upgrade Ajax Lightfoot to level 4. This gives the card the dodge and that is nice. I do think it's an appealing card to have but I don't think I will use this card often either.
SPS
My SPS rewards were lower and I think the change to Wild looks great. The SPS that I earned went up quite a bit. However, my brawl rewards went down and I don't get any chests either so my total rewards are down.
My pool reward for the season is 108.065 SPS. I plan on staking all of this along with all of my staking rewards for a total of 260.224 SPS. The total SPS was around what I usually expected. I stacked up the VOUCHERS and I did not sell during the wagons earlier this month. So I plan on stacking them for now and waiting for a new opportunity in the future.
Conclusion
The new system is different but I do feel that the rewards are a bit more lacking. I do think the move toward Wild league was a good choice though because I do earn way more Glint there and Modern is just too tough. Other than that, not much has really changed.

Looks good enough, got plenty of summoners, that is good for the game, if you max them out you can play up to diamond 1-champ 3. Good luck next time. Legendary are not so often as in the past, I noticed.
I wait to see if they can make it to pay the price and buy 1 card at rare, epic or legendary. Even if it is like 1 lege, 3 epic 10 rare per season guaranteed, that would be cool though.
You need cards to go along with the summoners, but I do agree that having the summoners at higher level opens up more options. I'll see how things go but I wouldn't mind taking out the randomness a bit.
Higher summoners with lower cards works, as you can upgrade the cards you use more often. Higher cards with low summoners don't work. This was my reasoning.
The rewards are lacking like you've pointed out, but I do think they can actually improve the Gwen shop, it's particularly crude and nonfunctioning at the money. I wish they can make it so people can buy whatever card they want
It's lacking and I would agree that having more control over what you buy would be great. The randomness can suck.
I hope Splinterlands does better in the aspect of rewards
It does not really seem cool
The new reward shop doesn't seem that great with all the randomness.
