Splinterlands Engagement Challenge: Conclave Arcana Presale Has Begun

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge that can be found in this week's post. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because they get to learn about the game. In this week's challenge, we talk about the conclave arcana set and the pre-sale going on.

I talked about the basics of the set in my post two weeks ago here, and the presale details last week. The pre-sale started a few days ago, and its interesting to look at the data from the first few days of the sale. There is less than 14 days left in the pre-sale right now.

The starter packs are not available during the pre-sale, but standard, alchemy, and legendary are. In total, there are 500,000 standards, 100,000 alchemy, and 50,000 legendary packs available for purchase.

Pack TypeAvailable at StartCurrentSold% Sold
Standard500,000416,37183,62916.73
Alchemy100,00063,25236,74836.75
Legendary50,00042,0337,96715.34

From what I can see above, it looks like alchemy packs are the most bought, followed by standard, and then legendary. The biggest reason is probably for the chance of a black foil card and black foil arcane cards.

Black Foil Cards

  • +20% Reward bonus in ranked battles
  • Half the cooldown of Gold Foil cards in Survival Mode
  • 5x the DEC burn value, Collection Power, and Contribution in Conflicts of Gold Foils
  • 5x base Production Point multiplier (same as Beta cards)

These black foil cards also come as maxed-level cards with the above benefits, so they are quite powerful in ranked battles, land, and for conflicts. I am not sure how many black foil cards will be in existence, but the arcane versions are quite low. The introduction posts mentions that they would be released through events, so I don't think that the arcane versions are in the pack openings. So I think the primary focus is on the normal black foils cards.

Standard Packs: 0.025% (1 in 4,000 cards or 1 in 800 packs)
Alchemy Packs: 0.25% (1 in 400 cards or 1 in 80 packs)
Legendary Packs: 0.125% (1 in 800 cards or 1 in 160 packs)
Starter Packs: 0%

The chances of a black foil are above. There is also a potion that will double the black foil chances, and it will come from land in this post. Someone already did the math on the chance for black foils here, but without potions, it is: $3200 for standard, $960 for alchemy, and $3840 for legendary packs. Given this, it makes sense why so many people are going after the alchemy packs if they want those black foil cards. It's the best cost-wise because black foils only appear when there is a gold foil card, so the guaranteed gold foil card increases the odds of it being a black foil.

Conclusion

It looks like the pre-sale is going decently well so far, as quite a few packs have been sold. It seems like there are plenty enough cards available, though, so you still have a chance to enter a few days from now if you want to. From sale numbers, the most sought after pack is the alchemy packs for the chance of a black foil card. It makes sense because it is a max level card with multiple different benefits. Those black foil cards are going to be worth a ton, and there are so many places where you would benefit from having such a card.

What is your plan in regards to the new Conclave pre-sale?

Last time I checked they didn't sell that many packs... In the end of the day it's always the same big players buys packs not really the others... Also this great marketing campaign where is it? They haven't started yet

It looks like the packs haven't moved as much over the past few days. I think the biggest purchases were on day 1. I am also waiting for the marketing, but I don't think I have seen too much lately.

I guess it's all about the hitting or getting the black foil. We can comfortably say they're what replaced the concept of GFL with all the previous cards sets. So it makes sense that a few people wants to throw money in the alchemy packs to get that black foil. Night be worth thousands of dollars by September
