Splinterlands: Chimney Wallstop deals a ton of damage as it stacks bloodlust

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Djinn Inferni.

Featured cards

Chimney Wallstop is a fire splinter that costs 10 mana. This splinter starts with the reach and bloodlust ability. Leveling up this card increases the stats of this monster, and it learns repair at level 5 and strengthen at level 9. It's a card that I use in Brawls because you don't have many chances to use them in modern (relies on ruleset).

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Up Close & Personal, Reverse Speed, and Earthquake. This means that only melee monsters can be used, turn order is reversed, and non flying monsters take physical damagge very turn. There is also 59 mana available, and I can use fire, water, earth, or death splinter.

This battle is interesting because we are limited to melee monsters, and the other rulseets can help decide what other disadvantages they have.

SplinterMana CostPositionReason

Chimney Wallstop102ndReach and Bloodlust
Ferox Defender83rdProtect
Sand Worm94thSneak
Gargoya Lion65thFlying and Void
Disintegrator76thDemoralize
Total Mana:53

My summoner is Eternan Brune for its -2 armor. My tank is Living Lava because it has the shield ability. After that is Chimney Wallstop with reach and bloodlust. Ferox Defender has protect, Disintegrator has demoralize, and Sand Worm with sneak. There is also Gargoya Lion with flying and void.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing as much damage as possible. Most of my monsters can't attack, but the ones that can have quite a bit of damage. Gargoya Lion is a good monster because it has flying so it can outlast my opponent if my monsters end up dying from my opponent or earthquake.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. I am a bit worried about those opportunity monsters, but I do have the damage advantage at least. The last monster with heal is also a concern because I can't outlast my opponent unless that is dead.

Round 4

round 4.png
My opponent is left with just one monster, but I have 5 left. At this point, the match will come down to Chimney Wallstop. If I can land one hit, I should win the match. If I don't, then I lose.

I won that match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle this time went exactly as planned. I was able to kill off my opponent due to my damage, but I was not expecting to see that heal monster in the back. It threw off my strategy to outlast my opponent in the worst case scenario. My opponent just lost most of his attacks due to the earthquake, and I am glad that my archon removes 2 armor. Chimney Wallstop just seems unstopable once it stacks bloodlust.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

I like Chimney Wallstop for the repair ability from level 5, it can be a great supporting card from the second spot with that bloodlust ability.
Looks like the battle link you shared is for another battle, I tried to watch the battle but it shows another fight.

It's a gladiator so you can't buy it. Get some merits from brawls and draw one from a case.
