Splinterlands: Chaos Jailer is a nice card to use in melee only fights
Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because my opponent used Chaos Jailer.
Featured cards

Chaos Jailer is a Rebellion death splinter that costs 5 mana. It has the ability opportunity and ambush from the very first level. At level 2, it learns poison and at level 5, it learns slow. As a support monster with the weapons training ability, This card is great once it reaches level 2. The poison ability can help you deal some decent damage in fights.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Up Close & Personal. This means that only melee monsters can be used. There is also 58 mana available, and I can use fire, water, death, or dragon splinter.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dolfar Darflak | 3 | Summoner | |
| Mantaroth | 11 | 1st | Shield |
| Thraghun | 9 | 2nd | Reach and Cripple |
| Grove Doomblade | 9 | 3rd | Sneak |
| Torch Vizier | 5 | 4th | Opportunity |
| Chaos Jailer | 5 | 5th | Ambush, Opportunity, and Poison |
| Mad Ogre Anarchist | 6 | 6th | Opportunity |
| Total Mana: | 48 |
I use Dolfar Darflak as my summoner for the ability to use both fire and death monsters. I have Mantaroth as my tank because it has the shield ability. After that is Thraghun as a dual ranged and melee monster with reach and cripple. My third monster is Grove Doomblade with sneak. My last three monsters are all opportunity monsters, but Chaos Jailer is the only one with extra abilities.
My plan is to have Mantaroth as my first tank because it can attack from the first spot. The rest of my monsters are all focused on doing damage. Thraghun would also be an effective card against high armor monsters because the cripple reduces their health while I work on the armor. My other 4 monsters are all there for damage, but I am also relying on a bit of luck with Chaos Jailer.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match could go either way. I am most worried about the first two monsters due to their speed, and it could hurt me if I can't kill them fast enough. However, I do think that my opponent has spread out his damage too much.
Round 4

My opponent and I were trading blows, but I came out ahead. Chaos Jailer helped remove one monster early on and gave me a slight advantage. My opponent is down to 2 monsters, but I still have plenty. So I don't think I can lose unless I miss too many attacks.

I ended up winning this match a few rounds later.
Conclusion
The battle this time didn't play out as I planned, but I was still able to win without too many worries. Chaos Jailer was a decent card to use because it helped me kill off a monster early on. During the ambush phase, it was able to remove the armor and poison the monster. Over time, the poison that Chaos Jailer inflicted during the fight as well. The rest of my lineup dealt some damage, and I think that having all of that damage available helped me wipe out my opponent. I feel that my opponent's damage was too spread out. I was also a bit spread out, but I had three opportunity monsters, and these monsters are more flexible.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

It's a good card for the poison and when it reaches the slow, the main issue is the damage, only 1 until max level
Yes, but I am not fighting in those higher leagues. So the 1 damage doesn't seem to be that bad. The poison just adds up over time, and it helps to kill off my opponent slowly.
The Poison ability from level 2 makes a very useful card, I like the speed it has and definitely much more useful from level 5 with the slow ability. I think it is a good card to the Death Splinter.
It's a great card to use. It might not deal the most damage all the time, but that poison damage adds up. The slow can also help out in fights, but mine is not high enough level for that.
