Splinterlands: Anasth Soothsayer cleansed my team to victory

Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because my opponent used A'lan Musketeer.

Featured cards

Anasth Soothsayer is a water monster that costs 4 mana. It only has the cleanse ability. It learns tank heal at level 2, lookout at level 4, dispel at level 6, and dodge at level 8. Overall, this is a fairy strong card to use because of its decent stats and abilities. I use it quite often but my card is only level 2.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Unprotected and Noxious Fumes. This means that all monsters start off poisoned and without any armor. There is also 18 mana available, and I can use water or dragon splinter.

Halfling Refugee11st
Daigendark Surveyor22ndMagic Reflect
Anasth Soothsayer63rdHeal and Cleanse
Argarux Magus34thScattershot
Total Mana:18

I use Marlai Singariel as my summoner for the +1 magic. I have Halfling Refugee as my tank due to its low mana cost. Next, I have Daigendark Surveyor after because it can reflect magic in case my tank dies early. Argarux Magus and Anasth Soothsayer are my magic damage dealers, and Anasth Soothsayer has its abilities too.

My plan is to have Halfling Refugee work as a good tank against any magic monsters. I have one backup monster, and the rest of my lineup will just deal damage. The cleanse can get rid of the poison so I could win by surviving long enough.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match could go either way, but my opponent has a slight advantage. My opponent has more damage than me, but I can win if I can survive long enough.

Round 4

round 4.png
I am down to just one monster, but my opponent is going to be the same as well.

I ended up winning this match a few rounds later.

Conclusion

The battle this time did not play out as I expected, but I am glad that my strategy did work out. I won because I removed that poison from my last monster. My opponent ended up killing off his own monster, and I was able to outlast my opponent. Anasth Soothsayer was such a useful card, and I thought it was a lost cause when I was left with one monster that could not attack. It is good to see that cleansing the poison was enough to pull the match into my favor. There wasn't much mana available in this match, but this card was an obvious pick.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

In modern this one and the green monster with cleanse are good for that ruleset... I think the dodge on last level is a good plus

Yea. There aren't as many options for me because I am missing quite a few conclave cards.
