Rising Star Weekly Giveaway #201 and Looking Up at the Sky

Here is my weekly status and giveaway. I also talk about an OST track that I like. Please make sure to read the rules to qualify for the giveaway. I chose a track from a game that I played in the past.

Looking Up at the Sky

I chose Looking Up at the Sky as this week's track because the work week was quite busy, and I wanted a track that would make me want to go outside more to walk. This track is what I consider the best field track in the overworld (not a dungeon). I remember hearing this track for the first time on the PSP when I first played this series, and I thought it was amazing. There is also a violin version played by Elliot when you first enter Saint Arkh in Cold Steel III, and I thought it was pretty good. It has a different feeling, but it's an amazing track regardless. If I had to say which track is better, I prefer the original Trails in the Sky version.

There is also two versions of this track with lyrics that play in the final chapter of Trails of the Sky, one from the 3rd chapter and the other super arranged from it. This track plays as the entire group in the end, as the entire cast is saying farewell. When I first played this version on the PC, and heard this track, I was amazed how they repurposed the track from Trails in the Sky Second Chapter with lyrics. It felt so sad seeing everyone move on with their lives after dealing with the supernatural incident. When I rank everything with the two tracks above, I still like the original version, followed by the versions with lyrics, and the last would be the violin version.

The person that I think of from this track is the cast of characters from Trials in the Sky. It was just so much fun remembering it, and the tracks brought up good memories from the game. So I couldn't think of anything else more fitting for it. The image comes from Zerochan (a place for fanart) here.

I was able to send out cards last week, but it looks like the whitelist has been wiped. I contacted them in Discord, and I will get the card out when this issue gets resolved. When I checked the current whitelist, it looks like there aren't many players so it may have been wiped. I'll still run the giveaway for now, but if it doesn't work out, I'll find some other prize for the winners.

Current Status

I gained 57k STARBITS over the past week. I made sure to do more missions this week so it recovered to an extent and I don't think I missed any millionaire missions either. I did do a few more seasonal missions, but I didn't have any luck getting any new instruments this week though. I didn't get anything great from my pack openings this week.

Current Ranking

My rank went up 1 rank. I thought I did better, but I think there was a day or two where I didn't show up in the middle of a day to play long missions. Maybe it's because the seasonal mission was left instead of a longer mission.

Tips (source)

I think the tips are something every new player should know about. It will help people progress in the game and it hasn't really been shared since surya1adiga stopped his giveaways.

1. Take music lessons when possible to raise skill and reduce ego.
2. Having lesson specific instruments helps in receiving more skill from that lesson.
3. Have pizza box to store any pizza received during mission to reuse later.
4. Buy cold pizza slice if possible. This gives 1 refill every 24hours. Comes very handy when you are low on energy.
5. If you have enough of cold pizza slice and pizza box, you will never run out of energy.
6. If you have more fans than skill and you won't reduce the ego , you can use a storage trailer to store unnecessary cards. Or you can list the card in market for an unreasonably high price.
7. Ego received for a particular mission increases every time you play it. The ego is reset to base level the next day. So, try to play different missions to control the ego gained.
8. Keep track of your achievements to unlock in game rewards
9. Buy storage trailer (only if necessary) to keep the cards that might have a negative effect. Like a card with high fan count resulting in ego.
10. When earning skill points through music lessons, you can earn more points per lesson if you hold more of specific instrument cards. There seems to be base skill which is rewarded irrespective of the card count and then the skill increases depending on the number of the lesson specific card one has.
11. Try taking up many smaller missions to fill up pizza boxes and have extra energy to play more rewarding missions. But you need to have pizza boxes for this to work.
