Brawl Report #92: Another decent brawl with me winnning over half of my matches

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I did just as well as last time but our guild got more points so the rewards were better.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 5 wins. There were 2 free wins in this match because two guilds didn't submit someone for a match. My rewards for the brawl were 4,524 merits and 82.019 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 6th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. My guild placed the same rank as last time but we had 51 more points compared to last time. So our crowns, SPS, and merits were better this time around.

Brawl fights

There were 3 that I won and 3 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match due to the bloodlust and protect monster. By taking advantage of the ruleset and the fact that attacks have to go through armor first, I was able to take out my opponent's tank and finish off my opponent without any issues.

You can find the second match here. I won this match due to taking advantage of the ruleset. Those flying monsters were able to outlast my opponent. It was a bit close though but I think the speed difference allowed me to dodge a few attacks.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match due to the magic monsters. It was too much for me to overcome.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match due to my opponent's strong melee lineup. That Possibilius and Coastal Sentry combination is quite deadly when you have to factor in the trample.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match due to my opponent's summoner. The Llama summoner is quite powerful as it gives both cleanse and last stand. When the match first started, I thought the Kron would be the biggest issue but that died off soon enough due to my Sandworm, but the rest of the damage that my opponent had was too much for me to overcome.

You can find the sixth match here. I won this match due to the shield monster. My opponent couldn't damage it, so it was just a long fight.

Conclusion

I think doing 8 fights for 4,524 merits and 82.019 SPS is a good reward for the effort. My guild placed the same as last week but since we had more points, our rewards were better. I would have to say that I did win over half of my matches so that is above average for me and I hope to keep up that luck. From the look of the matches, the ruleset is quite important. I won or lost matches depending on how well I adapted to it.
